Welcome! I am so happy to be hosting the fourth and final week of this month's inspiring topic. Who doesn't need a little extra kick occasionally to firm up our Resolve? I know I have many days when I feel adrift. It takes every bit of strength and resolve to pull myself together. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. Most of the time, it is a mix of both, with the percentages tilted in one direction or the other. 75% Success on Monday, 25% success on Tuesday.

Now it is time for mental reflection. I want you to close your eyes or just relax your vision, however you are comfortable. Take a few deep breaths and reflect on the past few weeks. Think about a point when you just were not feeling it. Nope, no way, not gonna do it. It doesn't matter if it was something big, like facing your biggest fears, or something small, like really, really not wanting to wash the dishes. We've all been there.

Ok, now that you have that moment in mind, think about how you handled it. Did you mentally shake yourself, suck it up, and go for it? That is awesome if you did! Feel that moment of strength and resolve again. Maybe you are more like me and you hemmed and hawed and bribed yourself to accomplish the task. Ok, recall that feeling of squishy resolve when you got to your task. Maybe it was too much. You couldn't do it. You simply did not have the energy to deal with whatever it was, big or small. You know what? That is OK! Say it with me. That is OK. Life is all about having another chance. So if that is where you were, go ahead and find that resolve within you. (I know it is there. You wouldn't have gotten this far in life if it weren't. I promise!) Then resolve to make a plan, take a first step, to do what it is you need to do.

Everyone with me? Do you have that feeling of "I can do it" energy?
Now it is time to take that energy, that spark, and put it on your scrap page. How will you express it? With color, with texture, or with a quote? However you feel it, just do it!
The only thing I want you to do is to add the word resolve to your page somewhere, however, you want to incorporate it. Big or small. Obvious or subtle.
And then pat yourself on the back when you are done.

You got this!

I wanted to reinforce all of the qualities within myself that show my resolve. I used the Vertical Type Mask tool to build the base of my acrostic.

And here are all four weeks put together:

Challenge Guidelines & Template Info:

You can choose to do a single page, double page, tag, or TN each week, or use a divided template—one part for each week. If you don’t have the Divided Template and would like to use it, you can get it here at Dropbox. Thank you to Ona @wombat146 for providing the template choices for us!

If you use the template, we encourage you to post it incrementally:
Post one section in the first week.
  • Post an image of the two together on the second week.
  • Post three sections on the third week.
  • Share the finished page on the fourth week.
Note: The template is NEVER required—just a fun option if you want to try something different!
  • You have until 11:59 p.m. CST on April 30 to complete your pages for this challenge.
  • To qualify for the drawing, you need to use 80% Oscraps products currently in the store (non-Oscraps products or retired O designer products can be used whether the designer is selling elsewhere or not).
  • You need to credit all products used on your page.
  • You cannot use a page created for this challenge in another Oscraps challenge.
  • Upload your page to the Art Journal Gallery and then add your layout to the challenge thread. (Instructions below.)
  1. Upload your layout to the gallery first.
  2. In your forum post, click the Gallery Embed icon (little camera).
  3. This will open your gallery—click on the layout you want to embed.
  4. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click Continue.
  5. Your linked layout is now in your post! The image will appear once you click Post Reply.
Everyone who participates in any of this month’s challenges will be entered into a drawing for a $5 gift certificate to Oscraps. You can receive up to four entries into this month’s drawing.

We look forward to seeing your inspiring pages on Resolve! Happy journaling!

I love love love this!!!! Can I just throw responsibility out the window and just jump right on this??? I confess I was so excited that I created a layout 4 days ago. I have never done my LO before it gets posted. I was worried but the LO demanded to be made. I must have channeled Chris and didn't know it cause Resolve runs down the side. Once I get a moment, I just need a few tweaks and then I will post it. Have so loved this months theme. I love both your layouts!

I think this might be my favorite just because of the determination in her look. The quote really spoke to me too.

While its super busy and lots to see/read, I really like how this turned out. @faerywings Thank you Chris for the inspiration to put them together and that they didn't have to be just cut and paste but I could make them overlap and mix up a bit and still be the layouts I created. I'm learning slowly but I am learning. :heartpumppink:

@pachimac Susie I love your layouts all together. Makes me think of a newspaper and what a story you wrote. The resolve to take charge of your health. I love all the different selfies.
