Hello aArtists!

It’s time for another challenge from Anna Aspnes. The AnnaTeam selects a creative page or design concept from the Anna gallery as the ‘AnnaLift.’ Be inspired, create your own ‘AnnaLift,’ upload your page to the Anna gallery and include it here in this forum thread. Upload your page by Friday, July 12, 2024 by 8:00 pm EST with the title, ‘AnnaLift. ’ One lucky participant will be randomly selected to win a $5.00 GiftKard to Anna’s shop.

HOW IT WORKS: On Saturday the AnnaTeam posts a creative concept from the Anna gallery as the ‘AnnaLift.’ Check out the inspiration and decide what speaks to you. Is it the design, the color, the wordART, or maybe the photo? Then enjoy artfully playing—there is no right or wrong way to ArtPlay.

Choose ONE idea to lift or choose it ALL and lift it completely. Be inspired, create your ‘AnnaLift’ and then upload your page to the Anna gallery, plus include it here in this forum thread. It would be great if you could link back to your page in the gallery too!

Anna’s products mix well with so many kits/designers and Anna welcomes you to include these with your Anna Products on your AnnaLift page.

The Many Thoughts of You by helenedubois


The Many Thoughts of You by helenedubois is a beautifully, expressive portrait. The image of the young woman has haunting eyes. She bravely faces forward into the unseen. The image is large and fills the composition. The design has the appearance of stacked layers with torn and cut edges. Helene has carefully blended the image to place emphasis on the facial features. The focal point is a soft image with of black and white. Neutral tones of creme, brown, and gray bring unity to the various layers and textures. The tones of the colors are an excellent choice to suggest warm, rugged leather, appropriate for her Western style cowgirl hat.

• Theme: large image- portrait, landscape, quilted or torn layers . . .
• Create a block style portrait to fill the composition . . .
• Use layers of torn paper and other textures for emphasis on features of your photo . . .
• Use blending modes on your photo with Artsy Transfers . .
• Use stitches, torn edges, or ribbons for accents . . .
• Use neutral colors for unity and expression. . .
• Blend a block style word into the image for your title. . .

Quick question, does this challenge need to be completed with Anna products? I created my page then realized I didn't have Anna products and wondered if it was required. I'm not sure after reading the directions. Might just need more coffee.

Yes, you do need to use some of Anna's products in your layout but how much is up to you. From the Anna color challenge page, it says ' You may use products from any O'Scraps designer as long as your page contains at least some of Anna's designs.' I always thought it said the same for the lift challenge.
