Hello aArtists!

It’s time for another challenge from Anna Aspnes. The AnnaTeam selects one creative page from the Anna gallery as the ‘AnnaLift.’ Be inspired, create your own ‘AnnaLift,’ upload your page to the Anna gallery and include it here in this forum thread. Upload your page by Friday 04.17.20 by 8:00 pm EST with the title, ‘AnnaLift. ’ One lucky participant will be randomly selected to win a $5.00 GiftKard to Anna’s shop.

HOW IT WORKS: Each Saturday the AnnaTeam posts one creative page from the Anna gallery as the ‘AnnaLift.’ Check out the inspiration page and decide what speaks to you. Is it the design, the color, the wordART, or maybe the photo? Then enjoy artfully playing—there is no right or wrong way to ArtPlay.

Choose ONE idea to lift or choose it ALL and lift it completely. Be inspired, create your ‘AnnaLift’ and then upload your page to the Anna gallery, plus include it here in this forum thread. It would be great if you could link back to your page in the gallery too!

Anna’s products mix well with so many kits/designers and Anna welcomes you to include these with your Anna Products on your AnnaLift page.

Cyanne22 captures our attention with the dynamic color scheme of red, blue and yellow. We share her journey and stroll with her on the streets of a beautiful island in Greece. The brilliant light of the Mediterranean bounces off the stark white buildings. The bold colors appear in accents creating visual movement throughout the composition. The clean white of the framing is repeated in the strong wide border. The border is painted with heavy brush strokes that reflect the Mediterranean Sea. The photomontage is mounted on a separate paper with a gracefully curving shadow. A delicate cluster of a red rose and berries adds a pop of dimension. Artsy marks and seashells around the title complete the journey.

IDEAS TO INSPIRE: Use ONE or MORE of the following in your AnnaLift layout.
  • Choose multiple photos to tell your visual story.
  • Experiment with a bold color palette.
  • Use multiple framed spaces for text to document your journey.
  • Use transfers, stains and splatters to expand the image.
  • Add a variety of elements like stains, wordstrips, beads and stitchez as accents.

This was a total lift down to the lemon trees. Was trying to replicate pretty much what Nancy did. The only thing that really flummoxed me was getting the shadow right, looking like both bottom ends were slightly turned up. Must have played with shadows for 20 minutes and I never did get it right. Anyway it was a lovely image for a challenge and I learned a lot trying to duplicate it

Here is my page about our trip to Guayaquil Ecuador 11 months ago. Such a stark contrast to how it is today according to the news as it reels from the effects of the coronavirus in the city.
