Ok, here are my week one layouts... I apologize that they're all so huge. I don't know how to make them smaller in the thread... I'm just linking to what I've posted in the gallery...
I had a LOT to scrap for week 1. I noticed some of the conversations about having problems with the two pages not matching side by side. I typically do a two page spread at the same time regardless if I have one week or different weeks... meaning that if I only have one page for a week (or an odd number), I'll still use the matching color scheme for the next page. I like my two pages to tie in together when I look at them side by side. As you can see below, I used the same color scheme for the first two pages that are side by side, although only one of them actually has photos, while the other is about my one little word. Some weeks I'll have only one page, other weeks I'll have numerous pages. I can always fill in with social media (I take a lot of .png shots on my iPhone) to get enough for a two page spread.
My biggest challenge is to cut down on the number of pages I do. Which is so hard. My 2013 album had so many pages, that I had to create a Volume 1 & 2. Costco is where I get mine printed, and they cap out at 100 pages in a book. I integrate photos & media from all my kids & their significant others, so there is a lot of stuff out there. By the time I get a copy printed for each kid, at $130 for the 2 volumes, plus myself, my printing costs alone will hit over $750 for 2013. It's worth it though. Now that I have them all uploaded, I'll just print a set a month & pass them out to the kids throughout the year.
I'm also integrating my one little word & other projects into my Project Life album. I don't want to have a bunch of albums floating around. It's just easier to put it all into one project for me. That helps with fillers pages as well.
