    Oh, Deer!

    I have a love/hate relationship with the deer that hang out in the backyard. They eat the flowers and vegetables in the gardens, but are beautiful to photograph. I collect their shedded antlers for decoration and recently purchased a pair of mid-century deer figurines for the fireplace mantle.

    I was drawn to the muted, natural colors of this kit and had to scrap an old photo I had taken of this deer. I used Topaz Labs to brighten up the shadows in the photo and used an adjustment layer to get rid of the deer's red eye. To make the background, I blended two of the papers (Soft Light)...
