I live on the west mesa (in Rio Rancho right next to Albuquerque, NM). The altitude is 5200' on the mesa and 5000' feet in the valley (Albuquerque). The Sandia Mountain just to the west of town is 10,678′. We don't usually have such high winds... they are from the storm fronts come through...
