Gorgeous! I love pages with lots of wordbits and paper strips and all this somewhat discheveled appearance... I love the monocromatic look and it suits the photo of your beautiful granddaughter perfectly!

Affinity Designer is good. It has a slightly different logic to it, so there will be a learning curve, but it is fully compatible with PSD files and brushes. Not styles though...
I like working with one kit only... I hate having too many windows/tabs open... Plus I have this thing about elements being color coordinated and I tend to trust designers more than myself... does that makes sense? Occasionally I would use papers from different kits or a specific element/transfer...
Mostly family... I like the time I spent creating the pages to be used productively. I share the layouts and then go back and add personal details, names, dates etc before I print the albums.
