The Kruger Rock Fire started Tuesday morning. We could smell the smoke. A pilot was killed and the suspected cause a 35 mph wind gust. By Saturday it was 85% contained at 147 acres. I hiked to Twin Sisters Peak 11,418′ ft 50 years ago & remembered all of my camping at Hermit Park below the rock.
With the first three days of our December trip actually in November, we'd keep the Thanksgiving weekend at home from feeling too long. But we'd have to wait longer for our Moab trip in January. The word for how we felt between trips is 'fernweh.' We'd get it pretty much every month anyway.
Can't help but feel very lucky to see a double rainbow all the way across the sky and with a worthy scene. Or even to have someone else see one. ;) Great page and it's not as easy to make a great page with one as it would seem. Nice work!
