This is just so wonderful! But when I saw the title in the gallery my first thought was Galileo's Daughter. That's the name of a book by Dava Sobel that I read in 2001. The daughter wrote him letters from her convent. Sounds like this book is just as great.

I've used a group of birds in our yard this spring.

I never know when or what I'll be able to photograph of birds in the yard, but here's a group that aren't brightly colored but add to our pleasure.

This (these?) are gorgeous. Like what you say about cactus too. So glad you're back creating more LOs to admire.

Math was special and fun and I loved being able to spend time doing it. Having a wonderful teacher had a big effect too.

Like others here, I find white space a real challenge but this was even more interesting to do.

Instead of the usual pair of Mourning Doves in our yard, this spring there were three and now four all coexisting. We don't know quite what to make of it, but they sure do spend time here cleaning up seed from the feeder.

I did mine letter size and it was a challenge from the usual square.

I was happy to capture this photo of two bright male American Goldfinch on our feeder. They are drab in the winter but become brilliant in the spring.

I just had to use this photo from today!

We only spent a little time birding today but there were several orioles singing and this one popped up right next to us letting me get a photo that even turned out despite being unplanned.

The prompts on family just brought this barreling out and so here it is. Hope it's not depressing. Also I was pleased that I could use this group photo of the whole family with just us from one side.

It's been nearly a year since I was the one left but I still think about it as if it were new sometimes. So this is my family at those times.

I don't think it's bland, just not that colorful, but really dramatic. The different pieces of paper worked so well with the images.

The places that are gone may have pictures somewhere online, so try to Google them and see. You won't be in them, but they can help tell your story about them. I found a picture of the place we stayed on our first vacation 50+ years ago that made me happy as it is long gone. And being bummed...

It's a fascinating program! I used pinhole 1 for the black and white version then overlaid a partial of a cross process 2 version for a little color with a hard light blend mode.
