Another famous old tea rose named for a Russian General by the French breeder of the rose, Gilbert Nabannond who lived on the Riviera. The Nabannonds named many of their roses after their customers and so happened the Russian nobility loved to winter on the Riveria and rented villas there...

I was inspired by the AnnaLift last week. This bridge was built by convicts back in the day. They carted sandstone from a quarry nearby. It's very beautiful and much photographed and looks as if it would fit perfectly into an English landscape.
