That trip sounds fabulous! I had an uncle (by marriage) who was of the Orthodox faith. He lived in another state, so we never celebrated that Christmas with him but we were always aware of it.

I think it's so fun that the tradition even exists, regardless of the origin!

Christmas Eve dinner is always scallops and fish, spaghetti with garlic, and assorted side dishes. This tradition started when I first got married many years ago; my mother-in-law said it was a Catholic tradition in her Italian family. She passed away many years ago and I'm no longer married...
