Good luck. Yes, my old Canon flatbed used to process slides and negatives. But that scanner has been replaced with another Canon flatbed which does not process anything other than photos, etc. Regarding the Wolverine, I purchased it originally because I have multiple sizes of negatives...
Beautiful layout, lovely clustering that frames the photo. I am glad you included the year. I always try to include as much info as possible and the year, even if it is only "circa".
Hi Susan, Thank you for your kind words. You had mentioned scanning in slides. I have a Wolverine slide/negative scanner, although I had almost given up on it and was going to purchase a different unit. I would not recommend... It takes a small SD card, but I found every time I tried to direct...
Hi Ona, Thank you for your kind words. And yes, it has been a roller coaster of emotions here.
My MIL is definitely quite the character. She has outlived 4 sons. When I met her, she was a parent to five mostly adult children, plus caregiver to her DH who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis...
Here is a photo of my 97 year old MIL. She is adorable and not quite 3 years old. The photo was actually labelled March 9, 1930. She was born in May, 1927. Attitude and a handful? I think so. :) This was one of the pics I recently scanned and gave back to her.
My DH taken in July 1953. I would not have been born yet. I find it cathartic to scrap photos of him, both vintage and more current. I can cry for what was lost while in the very lonely privacy of home. It is one form of art journaling that I categorize under "grief".
I guess I would call this heritage, or at least vintage. It features a photo of "yours truly", back in 1957. Taken in the backyard on Cortez Street, where so many of my childhood photos and memories happened.
Photo is from 1945, from my dad's side of the family. My dad's two sisters, along with my Uncle Frank and little Frankie. Little Frankie is still alive and well at the age of 81.
My DH's maternal great-grandfather Miklos was in the military. The photo was from 1898. It was in rough shape but blending it into a background did wonders for it. Micklos was 19 at the time, taken in Tusla, Serbia.
Here is my dad's youngest sister, circa 1940. These photos were given to me from her oldest son after she passed away in her 90's. I love that these were taken in the original type of photo booth, the kind that you'd find in a dime store. My journaling is in there, co-mingled with all of the...
One of my first cousins, photos are from 1949. The family lived in Arkansas, but every summer, they would drive up to Chicago to visit. Taken in the backyard on Cortez Street. :)
I am so sorry. I have dropped the ball and haven't been posting my heritage pages here. Many of my digi friends know that the love of my life passed away in April 2023. And life has definitely not been the same since. Yesterday would have been our 50th wedding anniversary. He would have turned...
