GUESS WHAT!!!!!!!????!!!!!!
It is raining!!!
:dancing6:

Today's field trip is postponed, but I don't even mind at all. I am sooo happy that it is raining. For the GS program the other day, we had to record the date that it last rained. I checked the historical weather record and it was September 25. That's pretty abnormal this time of year, especially considering that it only rained once or twice in the entire month of September. Same with August. So yeah, I'm very excited about the rain.

Yesterday was pretty busy, even though it didn't feel like I got all that much accomplished. I figured out everything I needed to do for the program today. I'm working at another field trip this Friday, but not sure if I'll be doing this version or a Bug Adaptation/Forest floor one. Since I don't have to work at Weis, I switched my cleaning day for my friend to this afternoon while he is at his weekly doctor appointment. Makes it easier for both of us that way, although I appreciate his flexibility in letting me come whenever I am free.

Jaida went back to the vet, the sore on her leg opened up again last week and is still not healing. We are trying a different antibiotic and will keep our fingers crossed that it works completely this time. She be on it for 2 weeks, and we can refill it for another 2 weeks if it's better, but not 100%. If there is no change, we might need to have it "scraped" (Vet's word).

The highlight of the day-- Caitlyn's tattoo is incredible! I just love it! The rat is surrounded by flowers and has her feet up, belly exposed, and is hugging her tail. It's the sweetest thing. The different flowers are the birth month flowers of Gary, Scott, me, and her. In a month or so, she'll get some shading done to finish it, but it is just gorgeous as is.

That's it here for now. Who wants to dance in the rain with me? :party2:
:rotfl:

I'm so proud of this kid. We had some rocky years when he was young...for some really good reasons. His first 4 1/2 years of life were a challenge (before we adopted him)! And he didn't really like women. But, boy has all of that changed. I am blessed beyond measure!
He is a rockstar! I am always so happy to hear how he came from such a difficult time and place (yeah, I know that is an understatement) and with the love and support you and your family gave him has turned out to be one of the kindest and hardworking, and loving people. Pat yourself on the back too, Mama ♥
pssst--- don't forget to take before and after pictures of the garden so you can scrap them!
Anyway, that is my sappy story for today. Now, I'm off to get ready for work. Because I work Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week. Oh how I love the sound of that.:yesss:
Two more days!!!

It's always better to be overly prepared than to have to wing it, in my humble opinion!
Same!
I am glad that your doctor said you were okay, no need for abx. Hope that you continue to improve.
How fun to spend the afternoon with Ilene, it has been a while?
Another day with the balloons staying on the east side. Guess this is going to be a year when they don't head our way.
boooooo!
You were busy with the house, I bet it looks wonderful after not having the sink usable for so long.
Vicky, Linda and I are all birthday week buddies! I was Sunday, Vicky is Wednesday, and Linda is Friday, (If I read and mathed correctly). No wonder we get along! :heartpumppink: :giggle4: :heartpumppink:
Wow! That is too cool!
:birthday2: Happy birthday to all of you!

@faerywings I saw the Weiss ad on FB... wow... makes me want to sign up. Too bad it is so far away for me to attend. I love hearing about your adventures there.
Thanks - even though I had no part in creating the ad LOL
I don't know who took the photo but it is the far end of the field, right before the trails begin. I work at one of the prettiest places around :lovey3:
You can :floorlaugh: :floorlaugh: :floorlaugh: But with no plan, I dont plan. Nothing gets thawed. Nothing gets started. Its just crap I gotta feed five in ten minutes. My days tend to get going fast and then I forget if I dont have a written plan. The biggest issue is that I bought what I thought we were out of so I have 3/4 of everything to make many meals but not everything to complete them LOL. Oh well, we are not gonna starve so its all good.
hahahaha! Totally relate to both of those points. I have to plan so I know what I need to cook, no food-winging it here. I get too overwhelmed. And I have the same issue with ingredients, especially when I need, say, broccoli for two different meals and I only bought enough for one.

Hope you all have a fantastic day!

We could use some rain here, too! The leaves are not really changing.....they are just dying and dropping! Brown! Yucky Brown! Glad you are getting some! Send some southward! ;)
Would Caitlyn share a pic of her rattoo with us? It sounds really cute! I'm not a tattoo person, but I have seen some amazing art work!

Yes, it had been awhile since Ilene and I got to spend time together. We are going to get together today, too. Then I have GOT to get busy and wrap up the loose ends of my widows' devotion.....and I totally forgot about our ladies' church Bible study this weekend that I have NOT even looked at!

Good morning, sweet friends!
Well, today is the day I begin another decade of life! 70! WOW! I just cannot believe it! So far the roof has not caved in, LOL!
DH wants to take me to dinner somewhere. I want to do something different.....nice.....dress-up nice! So I told him I would think about it! I've asked my church ladies for suggestions! I'll be sure and take pictures! That will definitely become a layout!

Going to Ilene's today, so I need to get my shower so I don't have to mess with it before church tonight. That way I can spend more time with her. She would have me living with her again if Mark would allow it, LOL!

I did have to take some Tylenol this morning. There is something about sleeping that causes me to get a headache! I need to do some research into that and see if I can figure out whether I need to get a doctor to start working on that or not. Or if it is just me!

I did get my week 2 art journaling page done. That's still about the only motivation I've had for working challenges. I did see that Big Photo is one of the challenges this month! I always love doing those! And I think I'm going to do it of the cabin. We shall see!

OK, I need to get this wrapped up and get ready to leave.

Have a wonderful day!

Good morning ladies. Yesterday took an unexpected turn. My 57 year old, healthy sister-in-law was found not breathing and no heart beat. She had been doing her morning routine of lifting weights. My niece found her. They have ruled her brain dead. Brian and Shaun and I spent the day there. When I tell you that this has turned our family upside down, I am not exaggerating. Angie was the anchor of their family. @faerywings has known me long enough to know how close I am to this family...before we had children, we were so involved with them. My nieces and nephew were everything...still are. And now, their kids. My brother let Angie take care of everything.

Her room was filled with pastors and members of her prayer group. Angie is one of the kindest people I know...to everyone. So many people praying for a miracle. But that is for us...because her miracle will be seeing her Lord and Savior long before expected. There will be so much help needed. My retirement is perfect timing. I am so sad.

I know that we have a few believers in this group. If you could please say a prayer, it would mean so much. And thank you for being a hOme to me for so many years.

Happy birthday @vickyday! 70! Pretty amazing if you ask me! I'm so glad that you get to celebrate with Ilene! I'm 68 on Friday. It surely doesn't seem possible. Have a great day!

Morning, all. A cloudy morning but I can see some balloons lifting off into the sky. Rain is in the forecast - off and on for the next few days (remnants of Priscilla). I have a bunch of errands to run... so many that I had to make a list of where/what! Hope I can get it all done before the rain starts. Guess I had better throw a rain jacket in the car... :lol23: Haven't needed a jacket for several months.

Off to get my shower, load the car with donations and get on the road. HAGD

Oh, no... Linda!!! So sorry to hear about your sister-in-law. Keeping the family in my prayers. :hug2:

I cannot tell you how sorry I am--- and yes, I know how deeply you adore your family. It was one of the first things I said when you came back the other day.
It might be a weird thing to say but I think your timing coming back to the Os is also a good thing. You know that we have your back, always. So here are some extra hugs and supportive thoughts to you all.~~~~
:hug3:

Good Morning ladies!

All of you looking for rain, you left it up here. And it will be here for at least the next 10 days. Feel free to come and get it!

Jaida went back to the vet,
Oh Chris, this isn't good. Jaida needs to heal. I hope that the new meds work and you dont have to "scrape" that sounds horrible.
Well, today is the day I begin another decade of life! 70! WOW!
Happy birthday Vicky!!!!!!

Yesterday took an unexpected turn.
Linda, this breaks my heart. I was so excited to get on here and sing to you about tomorrow being your last day of work and then I read this and my heart broke. Your SIL was so young. Your poor niece. :hug2: Will be praying for you all during this time. Your SIL had her faith turned into sight which is a wonderful thing but it leaves such a grief on you all. Prayers for you all.

Happy Birthday @vickyday I hope you have a wonderful day. Your porch on the cabin looked so cool and now hubby is covering it. That will be so nice to sit there during a rain storm. looking forward to the big pic page of the cabin, it would be a perfect subject.

@LSlycord Oh I am so sorry for you sad news. I wish your family well while they come to grips with this horrible event. I sure hope all the LadyO's can help easy your pain. How hard for your niece to be the one who found her.

@faerywings Yikes I hope the dog heals better this time having to scrape the would sounds gross. I hope you are taking advantage of the free time from work to do something personal.
I hope your trip to the beach was relaxing for you. I saw one page and look forward to seeing more.
I went looking for the Weiss FB page so I can see what your workplace is all about.

@BrightEyes I bet it's hard to fly a balloon in the rain so hopefully they are all done before it starts. It must be fabulous to see them flying. I went to a nigh fly with friends in KY but they were teathered but the night made them glow it was so beautiful. I chuckled at your list of shopping and errands...I do it too.

Yesterday I had my last pre-op appointment all went well now I wait for surgery time...hopefully early to get it over with. I had to stop taking Meloxicam so all my joints hurt now. I went to bank to put my settlement check in CD till I start the kitchen in Jan. I ordered pleated shades for the family room where we just put in the last hurricane windows. They will be here Friday so I hope we can put them up on the weekend then I can wash windows and put the recliners back all the way. I worked outside in the yard a little but it's hot so I only stay out a little while. I have a few more things to do before I go for surgery as it will be awhile before I can walk down to the edge of the pond. I've been doing some cleaning and prepping the spare room for my recovery, our bed is higher so spare room bed will be better.
Hubby got my cold so he is being typical male...off to bed to sleep all day!!! LOL
Yesterday I took the van in for oil change and service. They did alignment because we just put new tires on it last week. I needed front and rear brakes and I asked to have brake fluid flush as it's got 37,000 miles on it now. So van is good to go for long time now.

I did make some pages of my Germany/ Austria trip. A few in monthly challenges and some in my gallery if you want to see it

I hope everyone has a great evening.

WOW.... feel like I ran a marathon doing the errands... Couldn't believe it at the library... the "new releases" shelves were almost empty!!! Librarian said that there was a backlog on getting the new books in. They should be in within the next couple of weeks. I have 2 on hold until they arrive. Didn't make it over to the Senior Citizen library as it was trying to spit rain. I did manage to get a new mattress cover for my bed... so will be putting it on tomorrow. My back is talking to me right now. I bought a pair of Cuddle Duds PJs... think they are light-weight enough to wear for these cool autumn nights. Had to size down a size as I lost over 10 lbs when I had covid... and the appetite is still wanting only small meals. The sky is full of big storm clouds so am glad to be home before the rains come. Yes... we had rain last night and will have more tonight.

Popping in with a very, long overdue HELLO!!!!! Will go back and read the thread, but while quickly scrolling I see everyone is mentioning rain. It rained here today as well. Which brings joy. We've been in a high fire warning area all summer. Nowhere near enough, but I'll take it. I hope everyone is doing well and life's struggles are a minimum. PEACE

@AK_Tracy yes, my very precious sister-in-law did have her faith turned to sight today. What a very happy thing! I've been picturing her in heaven all day.
