books vs pages read

My daughter and I were having a discussion last month. She laughed at me when I said I had ready 52 books so far this year. She looked at me and said yeah but they're probably only 200 pages each. Well, dear daughter, challenge accepted. Yes, some books are short and some are waaaaaay long. SO I decided to add the books pages I've read so far. I am up to 65 books finished and 17,193 pages. I think I proved my point. But, do you read and do you ever count the pages? Kindle is awesome in that it tracks for me books I have finished in 2025. Thankfully the first book I finished was started January 2nd so its pretty accurate for me. I love that kindle also tracks how many days in a row I read, and so far, I'm up to 509 consecutive days reading. Quirky things you can track with Kindle app. Have you ever tracked your reading? Or added up the pages you've read.

I have a tracker app where I keep track of, among other things, pages read. I also have a book journal, where I write a couple of lines about every book I read. I have kept that journal (well, journals really, I'm up to my 4th notebook) since 1994.

So far this year I have read 58 books (and are reading 3) and 18.400 pages.

I always have 3 books going. I start my day reading 12 pages of a classic, then 12 pages of a non-fiction book, and then I have my "entertainment book", ie whatever I feel like. Should add, 12 pages is just a goal. Sometimes a chapter is 10 pages, and sometimes it's 22 pages. But I do get my classics read, and I learn new things by reading more non-fiction. I started with this way of reading in April, and I love it.

I can't use a reader due to light sensitivity so no way to track how many pages I read each week/month/year.
I do read between 6 - 8 books each week... most are 300+ pages. Many are hard backs I checkout from the library... some are large print so more pages in them. I don't worry about the pages I read... or how many books I read. I do re-read several of my favorite authors' books - that is why my collections are so large. :D All of the family are readers including the men. We share info when we find an author we like... and pass books around too.

Yes, I understand light sensitivity. I have all my devises almost blacked out they're so low light. I love that you all read so much too. I would say youre winning at that number of books per week and the average pages per book  I love a good re-read.
