Happy weekend, lOvelies! How are you all doing? Having a great weekend, for sure! I have no major plans myself, but my to-do list is filled with a wide variety of tasks.

I worked my butt off cleaning the cabin yesterday. I shared some pics in this thread if you want to see:
My new "classroom!"
By the time I got home, I was literally covered in cobwebs- I swear I even had some up my nose. But it was so worth it. :D
I didn't have time to get my CP pages uploaded before I left for work so I did that when I got home. Man, the gallery is just mind-blowing, so many amazing pages. I have a lot of beach/shore photos that would be perfect so this month's theme and color palette. I have to find time to scrap.
I have to keep a close eye on Jaida today. She must have chewed her leg because she has a huge, raw, scraped-up area on the inner part of her leg. Gary flipped me out when he came into the BR when I was about ready to fall asleep, saying that Jaida had a problem with her back leg. My mind
immediately jumped to her two "bionic" knees. As worrying as a wound is, it's not the same level as one of her knees needing to be repaired.
It's not bleeding, but open. I have to clean it - not sure what a good abx ointment will be safe for dogs. Sam probably knows or can ask one of the vets/techs at work today. I'll text her a little later.

Sending you all lots of love today! xo

Thank you all for the b-day wishes!!
Last night we went to the Nascar Hauler Parade in the rain. I never went to one so found it interesting. Huge trucks hauling the race cars inside sponsor badges all over the trailers...flashing lights and horns, people cheering !!!! Noisy and fun. We set up a tent and so many people came in to get out of the rain. Nascaar Drivers were doing autographs so son and grandson got hats and shirts signed. The drivers came in our tent to get out of the rain so Mike loved talking to Corey Heim about he track since he was there driving it last weekend.
I know nothing about Nascar or any of those races, but it sounds like a super fun and exciting night! DS and the kids must have been over the moon, especially being able to get autographs and merch.
How was 80s Movie Trivia?

I did get 4 Color Play LOs uploaded last evening. Will get 4-5 more uploaded today and the rest uploaded tomorrow. Have to stay within the 5 LOs upload per day limit. :giggle4: Of course, I see more kits that I would love to play with now that they are in the shop!!
 I was thrilled that I got *two* done this month LOL!
Had to LOL over Scott becoming "Chris' Son" there now!
hehehe!! It is cute. The director has wanted us to run a program together and we are both willing to, we just weren't sure what topic. I came up with an idea yesterday and ran it by him-- he hosts a Teddy Bear Hike and My First Hike with the Parks Dept. Wouldn't it be fun to host a Mommy/Daddy and Me hike with him? It could be a simple walk around the field, plenty of plants and trees, pinecones, and animal tracks we could observe. It's flat, so strollers can be used. I'll talk to Anne and see if we can set it up.

Oh but it is special. It takes a special talent and a very special person to teach others. I homeschool my kids but there is NO way I could teach others or mass amounts like you do. It is special.
Thank you! And me--- I could never HS my kids, not teach high school, for that matter. Everyone has a special niche.
The skin recovers and fills in little by little from the bottom and it seems to take forever to fill in. Two out of six are totally filled in and "normal" now. Four of them are still thick heavy scabs.
I'm sorry that it takes forever, it must feel so uncomfortable .
Its crazy how much rain we're getting. Yes we get one or two sunny days but its no longer weeks on end of warm sun. Not good for the bees thats for sure. If they cant find flowers we cant get honey. I dont need hot hot weather but I do need the sun and some drying out periods.
Do you keep hives? That's so cool if you do! I hope that you see the sun today!

When I sat down for dinner, I realized I had to take a photo. This is entirely for you Chris! @faerywings
Thank you very much.
Your facon looks good, what brand do you get?
Hey all. Today is the arty for our oldest Grandson's 12th. We decided to use our family time for it and are doing a Taco Bar party.
Happy b-day to your grandson!
The taco bar must have been a hit- for the eaters, not the prep cooks. LOL Or the cleaner-uppers. Tacos are so yummy but such a PITB to make all of the fixings.
So sorry to hear about your mom falling. Hope that she isn't too sore.
DD and SIL closed today on their end home. I'm so happy for them.
Congrats! It is gorgeous and 3+ acres? Sweeeeet!
We played Code Names with the GS and GD yesterday. My daughter said Ryan wouldn't tell his Grandma no if I asked him to play, so I did. he and Abby actually played it a couple of times and then played another game with us. Then they were done. But I think they enjoyed it!
Awww, that is so sweet of the kids.
Any better luck with PSE?
WOW!!! :wow2:
Your pages of the trip are stunning. I don't know how you got them all finished in such a short time frame and have them look so dang good! I'd be still muddling over my 1st one hehe

It's Friday!! You know what that means, a half-day to myself! So happy for that after VBS this week! It's our biggest outreach event of the year, and it takes alot of work to put on! It was very enjoyable and fulfilling - I'm happy now for the rest!
I bet you and Belle are glad to have VBS week behind you.
You would have loved all of my b-day gifts-- Scott went nuts at the local birding store. Hummingbird stuff, a wren house, something to add to the bird bath, a bird puzzle, and a bag of seed. Cait got me a new perch for the Birdy/camera feeder with a suet cage and nectar feeder.
As soon as the patio is done, I'll set everything up.
Sweden is on the top 3 list of countries that eats most ketchup per capita. I remember our home economics teacher telling us that ketchup is a condiment not a sauce.
:floorlaugh:

OMG @faerywings That cabin is sooooo adorable well that makes your fun job even more fun. I wish you happiness there.

Yesterday I helped Sarah get ready to leave for the race track camping weekend, they are all so excited. Our son is like a little kid getting ready. I met my sister for lunch we had the most different-delicious pizza I ever had. White pizza with smoked ham, lemon ricotta cheese. squash blossoms, bean sprouts and grilled corn and it was wood fired so nice crispy crust. We had a great time catching up. Back here I read for little while and then took care of the animals cleaned up and left to meet DD and family for Trivia at the brewery. There were several friends there that we got to see so I enjoyed that. Our team won again so we got a 25$ gift card.
Today I fed the animals and now we are headed to DD to help move some stuff.. I bought a bunch of cleaning supplies so I will work on that even though the house is immaculate and everything is new.

@AK_Tracy I'm glad you were going to take it easy for once. I hope you have a restful weekend.

Morning all.
@faerywings What great photos of the 'cabin'.... So glad you shared those with us.

DD#1 will be here late this afternoon. She is coming back to oversee and do more work on her son's house. Will probably be here for 2 weeks or so. Always happy to have her here. Hope the roofers can get the roof replaced before any more rain hit his area. That is the last big project that needed to be done now that the inside painting is done.

Will be uploading the rest of the Color Play LOs I have done. Of course, I see a few more CP kits that are fantastic.... :floorlaugh:
Off get my shower, change sheets, and do a few loads of laundry this morning.

Well, it helped that I kept a journal of the activities everyday and throughout the day so I wouldn't forget anything, LOL! When I got home I typed it all up so I could copy and paste. There were a few things I remembered or added as I was creating the pages! I showed them to Ilene yesterday. She loved them!

Good Morning to Everyone!
I'm having problems with my PSE still. Now it won't allow me to make pages small enough in size to post to the gallery. But as I was waking up this morning I remembered that I do have PS on my other laptop that I rarely ever use, so I will try working with it. I did contact Apple about the issue (where I purchased the program) and also Adobe (which was a waste of time IMHO!

Anyway, I guess that is what I will be doing today.....trying to get my pages small enough to upload to the gallery. Especially my week 4 AJ challenge that I finished last night.

Have a great weekend!

That pizza sounds amazing! I was so surprised to see "squash blossoms" as one of the toppings! My mom used to fry squash blossoms when I was a kid. They were so good and I have NEVER heard or found anyone else who has done anything with squash blossoms until now! How cool!
Sounds like you are having a great vacation with the family! Congrats on another gift card!

I was able to get some of my trip pages uploaded to the gallery yesterday. I will be working on another couple of sets today. Thanks for commenting!

Good Morning O Family!!!!!

I worked my butt off cleaning the cabin yesterday. I shared some pics in this thread if you want to see:
My new "classroom!"
That is NOT a cabin LOL You wanna see cabin, come up here and let me show you the dank dark musty cave dwelling feeling of a real cabin. I love your classroom though. How fun to have a space to set up and keep supplies and when it pours you will be dry. I love it!!! Those windows are amazing too.
Do you keep hives? That's so cool if you do! I hope that you see the sun today!
I dont but hubby does!!! We have about 5 hives right now. The sun is out at the moment and the bees are flying so that means its over 52° as they dont fly if its colder. They're interesting but not something I deal with. That's on the boys!
@AK_Tracy I'm glad you were going to take it easy for once. I hope you have a restful weekend.
Yeah, didn't go so well :giggle4: I went to hang clothes in my bedroom on the drying rack. Yep, stepped in a puddle. Somehow my pile of extra pillows, aprons and summer coats squished a gallon of distilled water that was stored for the humidifier. So quick, get that moved and cleaned up before my feather pillows get wet. UGH! NOT what I had planned. A little later decided to clean the bathroom. Yep, stepped up to the sink to rinse a rag and ugh stepped in a puddle again. The pipe under sink came loose so it was draining into the cabinet where we have our towels and extra stuff. Let me say q-tips swell like crazy! They swelled so much they burst the packaging. It was an unopened box prior to the addition of water. So, extra laundry as the bath towels were all damp. Got that fixed, bathroom cleaned. One way to purge under the sink stuff but not how I was planning to do so! But I did sit most of the afternoon and thankfully no more puddles.
DD#1 will be here late this afternoon.
I love that you get to see her so much while she helps her son. Such a beautiful relationship that you have.
Anyway, I guess that is what I will be doing today.....trying to get my pages small enough to upload to the gallery. Especially my week 4 AJ challenge that I finished last night.
This sounds like a horrible way to spend the day but I hope it gets everything fixed and up and running. Hopefully the other laptop will work and you can up load the AJ page.

No plans today. Just gonna sit back and maybe enjoy the sunshine. We shall see if it lasts longer enough to get outside. Hubs has been cutting a few spindly trees and brush down by the lake so I have a better view. Its amazing and he just started. Makes such a difference. Off to get more coffee. Have a wonderful weekend.

@BoatLady Nascar Parade.... How was the race? We have one of the most popular NASCAR tracks in the area- Darlington Raceway but we've never gone- it can be quite crowded and hard to get tickets. The area cities go all out with flags and such for "Race Week". Your trivia nights sound curious- Hubster would be GREAT at it. Me, probably not so much.
@faerywings Your hike ideas sound good. Even a Nature Treasure Hunt too! Yeah, we had a good time with the Taco Bar ( and the "arty"- lol ! You aren't alone with the typos! haha) We lived in Mexico, so the prep is no problem. Mexican food is 75% prep. :)
Mom is fine- with the exception of a head and shoulder bruise. Hospital confirmed no brain bleed. THANKFUL!
What a BIG cabin you have! Wow. I miss teaching- dream about it now and then. LOVED setting up a classroom each year, so I KNOW you are having FUN. Plants and pillows ae my suggestions...

@AK_Tracy I am not up to speed on what is happening physically with you, but you have my prayers! How wonderful that y'all have bees! So important to the biosphere!! Sorry about your little water mishaps. Way to go resolving them!!

@ Vickyday We have CodeNames too! Haven't played with DS and DIL yet. They are often too exhausted from work and 3 kids under 12. :) Did yoou really enjoy the Amish country? I went to school with Amish- Old Order- they use straight pins or hook and eye closures on their clothing. I had an Amish boyfriend in 8th grade- Martin Schmucker . I bawled the last day of school as I wouldn't ever see him again. They quit school at 8th grade.

@tanteva Dahhhling, Ketchup/Catsup IS a condiment, though try convincing our GK's of it is another matter!
Well, DD is here for a few more days then she takes off again. :sad1:Her visits/our visits are SO MUCH better now than the past. She is highly opinionated and shares often.:giggle4::giggle4: It can be a bit tense- mother/daughter thing, but it is 95% great these days!
DS has a job interview on Monday. He has loved his work-he is self taught and has pioneered several new avenues and projects that expanded the business. But now he has outgrown it, and has been offered an upscale position by two companies, doing like work, but expanded and with appropriate benefits. We are praying for him to have the direction to know this is the right move. Proud that he is thinking that way and not jumping right in!
I bought a new table for watercolors. I'm so excited!! Hubster built a set of shelves for a re-purposed baking rack so I now have dedicated storage space for watercolor supplies.

Happy happy!!!

@Amandajk We only went to the Hauler parade when the cars came in on thursday night. Today races start. Our son and family are camping there and have pit passes so I am looking forward to hearing about it. I got pics of Reed in a car and pics of son and Reed on the track. Also a pic of Mike trying to see what is going on in one of the race cars with hood up and mechanics looking in... the mechanic in Mike it probably driving him crazy that he cannot help.

Today we helped our daughter and family move. Their house is 3 stories with basement so lots of stuff but the stairs killed my knees so I did more stuff at the new house--it's ranch. We brought a bottle of champagne to celebrate so they really liked the toast to their now home with family and friends. They had several friends show up to help which was nice. They are not in a hurry to move which is nice, they just want to be in before the go to Greece in August..When we got back here I did laundry and then took care of the animals. Got go set my trail cam up to try to see what is digging under the pig house.
Have a good evening.

Good morning!!
Who else is tired today? I had such a terrible time sleeping last night. I was awake, tossed and turned, fell asleep, and awake again a half hour later. Over and over from 1 am to when I gave up at 5.
I worked my butt off yesterday. Nothing like cleaning my house or anything, it was mostly all desk work. But the three camp days are just about finished- all I need to do is create my sensory hike scavenger hunt page and grab the links to the books I want to borrow from the library. I can't prep activities until I know exactly (or close to it) how many kids I'll have.

That took up much of my day, plus I spent some time with Caitlyn and Gary. Gary thought he was going to need to buy a new suit for the wedding this Thursday but tried one on had when he used to work in NYC- 25 years ago. It fit and he looked *good!* He dropped it off at the dry cleaners and voila! No need to go shopping. Thank goodness because I know he would have preferred if I went with him. I am allergic to shopping. Yuck.

Plans for today are more of the same as yesterday. If I can squeeze time in the yard this afternoon, I would love that. I *need* that :D
My MIL mentioned that they might come up today to visit but they don't let us know until they are on the way. They'll call at 3 pm, say they are coming, stay for an hour, and then head back home. Well, if I am covered in sweat and dirt, so be it. LOL

Wishing you a happy, happy day!

@faerywings Sorry, the facon is a Swedish store brand. You have to move here! I told you before, when will you listen to me??!
As soon as you can legally adopt me, I'll be there! :p

best feeling ever- seeing your kids so excited and happy!
The pizza sounds amazing--light and fresh. I make flatbreads with lemon ricotta and roasted broccoli. Next time I might have to try it with the bean sprouts and corn. I doubt my grocery store carries squash blossoms, but maybe the farmers market?

I am so glad that DD#1 stays with you, she must be exhausted between the work and travel. I know that you take good care of her while she is there. Will DD#3 visit too?
And how is DD#2 holding up? Hugs to all your girls.
AWWW! Poor Jaida! Hope it isn't anything serious! And that it heals quickly!
It looks better, I think. Sam suggested to keep it clean and use Neosporin as long as she isn't licking it. But how do you know with dogs?
I showed them to Ilene yesterday. She loved them!
How could she not? ♥
Any good news about PS and PSE? I hope whatever it is that was messing the program up is all figured out.

I think that Cait and Tom looked at a house that was the same size as this cabin- the only difference was that the house had a working bathroom and stove. :floorlaugh:
How neat to have beehives. How much honey will you get (err-- I mean *he* haha) from that many?
I think the Universe was trying to tell you to get off your feet and stay out of puddles! That sounds so annoying and obviously not anything you could ignore. Today-- church and then relax??
Mom is fine- with the exception of a head and shoulder bruise. Hospital confirmed no brain bleed. THANKFUL!
*sigh of relief* BFF's mom has a history of brain bleeds and is in the hospital after another aphasia episode. It's scary.

There were times that setting up my classroom was the most exciting time of the year. I always taught in day care centers so it was year-round. But there is something special about getting ready for a new class, right?
Good luck to DH tomorrow!! :praying2:
Oooh, I love your table and the view out the window! The quote is fantastic too!

Our son and family are camping there and have pit passes so I am looking forward to hearing about it
How fun for them!! And great photo ops as they send you pics!
Congrats again to DD! I'm glad that you didn't hurt yourself going up and down the stairs in the old house.

Time to get the dogs fed and outside. :runningdog:

xoxo

Believe it or not, the PSE worked fine yesterday! Who knows!

I'm sure your inlaws love you dirt and all! Just give them a big, sweaty, dirty hug! ;)

Quick in and out,
Heading to church in a few minutes.
Got a couple of challenges done yesterday.
Will upload the last of the PA pages this afternoon. Got a couple of CP pages done so far. I'm not a beach person but the colors are wonderful!
Have a great day!
My PSE worked... yesterday at least;)

Morning all. DD#1 arrived safely late in the afternoon. She stopped at her son's house where DD#3 was doing some work.... then both came over here and we had supper together. Enjoyed having both of them here chatting away about plans for this week at grandson's house. If all goes well, the roof will be replaced on July 1. DD#3's sons will be down tomorrow to help with the heavy lifting and moving furniture. Busy week ahead and she hopes to have it all done before next weekend.

Did some cleaning, changed my sheets, laundry, etc while waiting for DD to arrive. Guess I did a bit too much as the back yelled "enough!!" so spent an hour on the massager/recliner. I did get the old kitchen chairs moved into the garage (until we can arrange the bulk pickup) so the living room is back to normal... :D

@vickyday Glad to hear your PSE is working again!!! Love seeing your LOs from your trip with the girls.

@faerywings Sorry you had such a broken sleep night... hate when those happen. Hope you can get some rest today. Your plans for the 'cabin' sound great!!! You really are a teacher at heart!

I hear DD#1 stirring... BBL

Good Morning :sleeping1:

Who else is tired today?
ME I am so tired. I slept hard but yeah I didn't relax yesterday.
How neat to have beehives. How much honey will you get (err-- I mean *he* haha) from that many?
We haven't gotten honey the last couple years because its been too wet and they have not made extra. We wont take all the honey, hubs make sure they will have enough to get through winter. So its been four years since we were able to get honey. But when we did I think it was ten gallons. We just finished eating it this winter. So were hoping for a dryer hotter summer so they over produce honey.

I'm starting to feel "normal" whatever that is. Super mad at the mosquito that got me as it left a big nasty bite that itches right next to an incision so scratching I have to be extra careful. Of course its high on the thigh and near the back so I look like an old man scratching his bum. Yesterday the men decided to do some more cleaning down at the lake shore so I can see the lake and sunrise better. Its been pretty grown over as we haven't cleared anything out in 16 years. I thought I can do it. Nope, the ground was too uneven so smart me thought I will mow the lawn (1 acre-ish) since the dandelions are all done and the clover hasn't really come up. Yeah the good news is that I didn't have to stop and take breaks or finish it another day. The down side, I could feel it in my body that I haven't moved that much in a long time. But thankfully today I dont feel it so yeah! Not hauling an extra 17 pounds in my legs is amazing! Worth every moment of discomfort and straws. Today is sunny, unexpected as forecast said different. So my plan after church is to sit and read in the sun. The other mini lawn can wait until tomorrow or later. Off to grab more coffee. Have a wonderful day!

BBL
Thanks, Kay!
Be careful moving that furniture around! :hug4:
