Do you like bread pudding?

I should ask if you've ever had/ made it? It's such a great way to use up bread that's going a little stale and my granny used to make it for us. So, it's very special to me. I'm getting ready to make it and thought I'd share the easy air fryer recipe I use.

2 eggs
some milk
a little sugar
torn bread until it's moist.
Sprinkle a little more sugar on top.

Air fry at 350 degrees for 15 minutes

Last time I made it, I added just a little Maple Syrup for a little more sweetness,but don't over sweeten it.

It makes your house smell delicious, too!

Goodness, bread pudding brings back a lot of memories. I haven't had it, or thought about it in years. My grand used to make it, then my mom, very similar to your recipe, Cheryl. I think I remember theirs had cinnamon. I'll have to give this a try. Yummy! ♥

Yes, you can put cinnamon in it or raisins or whatever you want, Betty Jo. Glad I could bring back some memories. I'm eating mine right now.
 
I hate it!!!!! Its a texture thing for me. I make it for church dinners as some requested I bring it back. I hate it. Squishy bread. Cant do it. And raisins :sick: Nope, sorry, this might be where we part ways :giggle4: Cant do bread pudding.
The recipe we have for church uses milk and raisins too.

Oh my goodness, since I cut back on breadl/carbs, I haven't had any. Guess what I will make this weekend?!!

My Mom loved bread pudding and mde the usual type, but also had a different recipe from her cousin that saved any leftover pieces of bread, challah, muffin, raisin bread, cake. etc that was starting to go stale. She'd put them in a bag in the freezer until she had enough for a bread pudding. It was interesting but actually good with all the different flavors mixed together. You never knew what you'd be tasting. :cool:
 
I had a recipe for pineapple bread pudding that I would make in the crockpot. It was so darn good, but I stopped making it because I would end up being the only one in the family who ate it.
It might still be in my recipe binder from the 90s. Now that I have an Instant Pot with the cake insert, I wonder if I could make a smaller recipe... :thinking2:

Let me know how much you love it, Amanda!! I know it's a lot of bread, ("bread" pudding) but it's so worth it every once in awhile. We're all eatig and watching the NFL playoffs tonight and one of the guys heard me say I made it yesterday. He asked me if I could bring him some tonight. I'm making a fresh one and putting raisins in it this time.

Yes, that's the beauty of it. You can use any kind of bread - even bagels. I don't have Granny's recipe, but when I was looking for a good, easy one, I found that all kinds of bread can be used. I also took mine out of the freezer yesterday because I don't think it would have gotten eaten otherwise. The recipe I use is pretty "loose" kind of an amount of milk to make whatever amount of bread moist. You can also back it in the oven. SO many variations.

That sounds good too, Chris. I know what you mean. I usually end up eating most of it, too. :rotfl:
 
Yes but not too soggy. Mom and Grandma used to make it. Cinnamon and raisins from Grandma but Mom made the lemon sauce. It would be good with Crasins
No, not TOO soggy. I found my recipe online and she shows what the bread mixture should look like. Yes, craisins would be good in it, too. I think you could add lots of things. I'm not fond of cinnamon but a lot of people put that in their mixture.
