We made it!! Woo hoo!
Too bad so sad that I am dreading today more than any other day this week. You wanna know why? I am going to the mall.
:bawling:
Hate malls, hate shopping, extra hate clothes shopping. The only thing that is saving me is that Caitlyn and I are dress shopping, not bathing suit shopping. That one is the worst of all. I desperately need a new bathing suit but not today, Satan. :devil2:

Did you all have a good day yesterday? For me, it was good but *long.* The kids got off the bus at 9.30 and we loaded them back on at 2 pm. I worked with one of the new interns and I summed it up to Gary this way: "He's cool but not V" (the one who finished his internship last week). He wanted to lead the stream study in the afternoon so that was neat. (Sort of. TBH, I felt a little sad hahahaha!)
Instead of fire building, we went to a small clearing in the woods and did shelter building instead, which the kids *loved.* The intern got them started on a big one, then the kids went off and made some smaller ones. They were pretty impressive!

I was pretty pooped out by the time I got home and was thrilled when Gary offered to cook dinner. I had asked the night before if he wanted anything special (our anniversary-- 32 years :lovey3:) and he had no ideas. I was ready to order pizza when he said he found a recipe to try. Good man! Double good because he also made the appt for my car. Guess I'll keep him. ;)

Wish me luck and sanity while I'm at the mall today.
Sending you all hugs too!

First of all you are sunshine...I always look forward to seeing what amazing thing you are up to for work. I'm so glad you are not pushing your self to go to the upper water...keep that ankle safe. Say NO to slippery rocks. The kids will enjoy it cause you make it all fun.
Awwww, thank you! I wasn't feeling very sunny when I woke up yesterday but it all worked out. We always find more critters in the upper stream but there was no way I was going to make it in one piece.
Yesterday our weather was better. We went to the Airborne and Special Ops museum in Fayetteville. My husband was in the 101st Airborne in Fort Campbell Ky so it was an interesting to see the history of Airborne units. From WWI to present. Our military had and has some amazing courageous men protecting us. Thank you to all military past and present.
My FIL (Marines) and MIL were visiting McGuire AFB last week. Can never take the military out the the servicemembers :D
Happy anniversary to your Kris! Similar photos -hahah!

if you didn't have them it would be a hunger game
:rotfl:

But its just one week today so why do I think I would be up and running around cleaning house and kicking butt? yep, cause I am dumb and think I am Wonder Woman!!! Just cause I had Underoos in WonderWoman doesn't mean I am. :floorlaugh:
OMG!!! You are so funny!! But no, none of us are Wonder Woman, Underoos or nah...
Wonder Woman would be the first to tell you that you need to take care of yourself first. So be one with the couch and feel better.

@Terri M You are awesome, ty for sharing that picture, I am LMBO! They did an awesome job draping the cloth around you, tres elegant.

I'm in here late, so I hope you are having/have had a great day with the kids!
This came across my email this morning about Lyme disease. I get this doctor's tinctures for my stomach. Anyway, thought you could read it, anyway.....HERE.
WOW!! Thank you for the article. There has been so much encouraging research coming out about Lyme/TBIs recently. Johns Hopkins has also published some new studies. (*fingers crossed they are still getting funding to continue*)
The inflammation of the brain/neuro system causes a lot of the symptoms once the joint issues are resolved. Gary has taken several supplements with mushrooms before but I am not sure if he did anything with skullcap. I'll send the info to him.
Great timing because he pulled another tick off him this morning.

BTW- Rutgers collects ticks for testing so if you ever find one you can send it to them.

Terri that knee contraption sounds utterly awful!

Vicky-- noooooo! Not the engine light!
Have a wonderful time with the family this weekend. And no pickleball for you!

hugs!!

Good morning ladies. I'm heading out with Remi in a minute and then will head out for haircut and errands. Just wanted to say hi and will be back over the weekend to chat a bit more. Hope you all have sunny skies. We do. It's lovely weather here.

Nice quiet day yesterday. We are under a flood watch for tonight -- if we get 4-5" I will spend the night worrying about bridges. Which makes no sense because they've always survived before up until we got 8" in one night. We are definitely getting more heavy rain showers than we used to.

I love the new Color Play selections. I imagine I'll be shopping today. Way better than at the mall -- which I also hate. Actually, here in Charlottesville, the mall has closed. There's still some shopping centers, a Talbots, Old Navy, and of course Kohls and Target, but if you really want to shop for a nice occasion you have to drive out to Richmond, about an hour away.

David is outside hacking back our forsythia bush. There is only one, but it certainly thinks it deserves the entire front garden for itself. I don't think anything can daunt a forsythia. We've been working to using more native plants in the gardens, and our wild ginger and wood poppies are finally starting to really look robust, and the ferns under the trees, meant to replace mulching, are spreading nicely. (I think my high school English teacher would call that a run-in sentence, sorry.)

Now I'm going out to try to do something in the sun before the rain arrives. Great day to all!

Good Morning Ladies!

(our anniversary-- 32 years :lovey3:)
Way to sneak that in Chris!!! Happy anniversary to you and Gary!!!!

@Terri M Isn't the color play so pretty!!!! The time difference means I see things the night before and already shopped LOL It was hard not to snap them all up!!!

I didn't do good with staying on the couch. Im in a catch 22 at the moment, dont move get sore and stiff and it hurts worse. Get up and move I'm sore and stiff and it hurts. I need to remember to get up a bit more often and when I do maybe dont make the sauce for enchiladas, or an hour later stand and cook the meat. I at least had the kids finish it but I wanted things seasoned right so I made the sauce and meat. One kid loves crazy seasonings that dont make sense to me and one is like dad and loves hot sauce so we have to remind him there are others eating too :giggle4: Today I will probably just organize and drool over my CP purchases. And watch some tv. and read my book and attempt to stand up and wiggle every hour without doing house work. But it is Laundry day. I hate sitting on the couch dictating what needs to be done.

Have a wonderful day!

Glad you had a good day yesterday with the kids!

Good afternoon,
My sister arrived right at 10 last night. We were up till one catching up and winding down. We slept in till 9 this morning. Then started working on food for supper tonight. My NC daughter and family are coming for supper. I've been trying to call Ilene but she must be out and about. I wanted to invite her to supper.
We picked Mark up and had Mexican food for lunch.
Have a great afternoon!

surgery was last Thursday, I got out of the hospital on Friday and then went to dgd track meet . She was only in one event that day and when it's only about an 11 second event it wasn't bad. I'm upright and toddling around the house unassisted the last 3 days, but rest of the day is on the couch, not ready to sit at the computer., but time in between is on the couch, not ready to sit at the computer. They didn't cut muscles, but the whole yanking them out of the way, certainly didn't make them happy. Ice packs are my companions.

This is why we put up with winter.

Holey moley, same day? Are we twinning again? I was feeling like a slacker reading all you've been doing. I did finally get to take a shower today. I thought that was a big accomplishment :floorlaugh:

Totally twining again :heartpumppink: You are NOT a slacker. I didn't have replacement. In comparison mine was less major. I've had to shower every day! That's fun. Nothing like woozy shower while drinking soda to keep the blood sugar up enough. Other than flying home, I have mostly been bonding with my couch.
