Who was complaining about the cool, rainy weather this past week?
Not me... *shakes head firmly*
We are heading into typical NJ summer weather today (looks like it is only for today, maybe) HHH. Right now it is 65* and 100% humidity. This afternoon will reach 80* and the humidity will [airquotes] drop to 60%. Hazy, hot, and humid! :nod1:
Just an FYI--I am not actually complaining about this weather, this is much better than the cold.

How was your Friday? Mine felt like it was Saturday because Caitlyn is on summer hours and is off on Fridays. Threw me off all day. I got a lot done. I think I am mostly ready for the upcoming week. I have a few loose ends to deal with -- mostly revolving around dinners/grocery shopping-- but work is pretty much under control.
Anne (Weis director) called to tell me that the Prek Camp went live and she already has 2 kids signed up :D dance3 The age range is 4-6, but a mom wanted to know if her older daughter (7) could be signed up with the 5 yo. Works for me!
Today is the Map and Compass class which runs 9-5. My poor brain is going to be overloaded, there are so many numbers on maps. Latitudes, elevations, and coordinates. I really don't like numbers, they have no meaning in my mind. Who knows, maybe this will kickstart a long-lost connection in my neural networks and numbers will finally make sense. (Don't laugh, it is possible :D )

Wishing everyone a wonderful and relaxing day.

The little one we have is finally drinking the nectar! I'll need to change it tomorrow.
Thank you for the mental nudge!
*scribbling on my to-do list*
I have to make more nectar and fill the feeders before we go to PA.
Glad that you had a good experience with the health evaluation.

@AK_Tracy What did you end up doing yesterday? Since it was yucky weather, did you stay inside and scrap?
I took breaks all day yesterday. And a bunch of the work I was doing was done on my butt. :)

I did get the Art Journaling Week 3 LOs uploaded this morning. Need to put my thinking cap on about the June challenge I will be hosting soon. My sister will be here either next week or the week after... plus DD#1 will be back probably the last week of May and into the 1st and 2nd week of June.
I am loving your phoenix LOs, they are just stunning!
Did you come up with your June Challenge? I admire you for planning ahead, I seem to let all of my prep time slip through my fingers.

@Terri M I am thinking of your DD, everything went well with the surgery?
Ugh about the dishwasher. That is one appliance I refuse to go without. I'd rather be w/o a stove than da dishwasher. Every time ours broke down, guess who ended up doing 90% of the dishes? :/

4 glorious hours to myself!! EXCEPT! Mark decided to come home early today - the pest guy was coming, and like Vicky said, you never know who's going to show up, so Mark was here for that. Now Mark is taking a nap, then he's taking Belle's car in for servicing. So I still get 2 or 3 hours alone after all. I'm going to scrap a page tonight, I have an idea for Vicky's AJ challenge, so we'll see if it comes to be!
Wooooo hoooo!! Love that you had time to yourself. Did you get to scrap?
You're a natural, and it will turn out great! Belle just finished an insect unit with her kids. They grew caterpillars and the kids loved it. So did Belle!
TY!! It sounds like Belle is a natural, too. IMHO-- when it comes to teaching, especially with the little ones, it's either something "you got" or you don't. I checked on our worm jar with my HS kids and you'd think we were growing gold something. They still talk about the isopod habitat we made last fall. Bugs and worms are so dang cool.
Good luck to your finches and wrens! I haven't seen the Carolina wrens go into the nest in the "greenhouse" since Gary moved it and the nest got shuffled around. We have been seeing/hearing the pileated woodpecker almost every day. Freaking dinosaur birds! :giggle4: You really can see the ancestry in them., right?

All the birdladies..I'm loving the pics, talks and pages. As we travel I get to hear so many different birds but don't get to see many. At our last campsite in a FL State Park I heard 20 different ones in 1/2 hour.
That is really cool!!
Our plan for the one full day we will be in PA is to go to the Nature Preserve and see if we can find some neat birds. Scott got a monocular that he has a blast using -- he can connect it to his phone, pics aren't great but it is fun to fool around with- and we will bring our binoculars. There is a beaver pond there and maybe we will get lucky to see them too. :praying2:
That sounds like a nice flow to your schedule, no rushing from place to place. I bet you can't wait to get to CT!

I'm glad that you got tick spray. There are a bunch of different tick species and they all can carry Lyme and other infections. A lot of doctors will tell you that only deer ticks transmit Lyme but that isn't true. When you do tick checks, they like to be in dark, damp places as well as in your hair, behind your ears, belly buttons, and between your toes. And apparently, underneath blood glucose sensors. pfft.
Sorry for getting on my soapbox, but as you know, I have seen and lived how Lyme can devastate health, family, and finances.
I don't mean to scare anyone, either, just want everyone to be aware.

LOVE the hummer pic!!! Woohooo!!!!! :heartpumplove: :heartpumplove: :heartpumplove: And YAY that your plant is getting new shoots at the top :beatingheart: Man, good luck with all of your upcoming things...I feel tired for you just reading all of it :giggle4::hug2:
hahah!! I sat onmy butt for weeks after I broke my foot and then Bam! Right into my busiest season LOL There is no middle ground.
I looooove my hummingbirds. They make me so happy!

Hugs!!

Hope your day at Weis goes well!

Good morning,
Rain, rain and more rain!
Took all of my "stored" scrapbook paper to my daughter today for her to use for a kindergarten project....and to keep since I won't ever be using it. What she doesn't want, I told her to give to her daughter who works in daycare or my oldest daughter who will be coming in a couple of weeks for our summer gathering. Her daughter likes to do crafts!
Just going to be working on more monthly reviews today and have one more load of laundry to work, too. Mark went to work for a couple of hours.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Morning, all. It seemed so strange to be alone again.... both girls are back at their homes late yesterday. Was back to "normal" eating earlier (5:30 PM) and in bed and reading by 8:30PM and asleep by 9:30PM. But I do miss having them here. Today is getting the towels, etc washed and put away. Have a couple of errands to do, too.

Looked out this morning and there are a lot of hot air balloons in the sky. Guess that is due to barely any wind this morning. We have been having strong winds for the past few weeks which keeps the balloons from flying. I saw the ad about a big Air Show here on May 31 at the base here. So heavy traffic here over Memorial holiday weekend and the next weekend.

No, @faerywings.... I haven't got started on my June Challenge, yet. Tossing around several ideas in my head. Need to get it done before Sister arrives and DD#1 is back. We are having a preview of summer weather this weekend... low 80's but then falling back into the 60's for highs for a few days. Still having yo-yo weather. Oh, I remember the Hot and Humid weather too well. Hope the humidity backs off some for your area.

Off to get started on the chores then off to run the errands. HAGD

Good Morning Ladies!
Yesterday turned out to be a wonderful surprise of HOT sunny weather!! I think the official temp might have been 55° but when in the sun it felt like 80°. I got some color, sat outside and tanned while reading a book for a couple hours. My clothes dried on the the line in no time. It was a wonderful day. When I made the pizza dough Monday it really grew and I ended up with 10 doughs, so we all have lunch and I dont have to do anything today. It rained overnight so its nice and cool this morning but hopefully we get some sun again. I'm ready and willing to sit outside and do nothing. Oooooo you hear that? Coffee pots done, off to grab some. Have a wonderful day!

For Chris @faerywings and any other bug lovers:
A new PBS documentary series, called Bugs that Rule the World, is a four-part global investigation into insect declines, exploring their diversity and their critical roles on the planet. During the series, scientists highlight the beauty of bugs, from pollinators to insect assassins to the tiny clean-up crews that purify the Earth.

We watched the first episode last night and I think it was amazing. The second is also available now. Two more to come.
