Guess what??????????
I freaking LOVE my job!!

I was so happy being outside with the kids. Loved seeing them run around. Loved seeing them engaged with lessons. Even loved... ummm.... ok, how about this?-- *appreciated* their screaming. LOL
I pooped out at 1.30. 100% done. I still had another half hour to finish up but plopped on a picnic table, let some of the kids run wild, and some of them did an art project. I apologized to the chaperones that I could not do the last activity and they told me to go and sit. And I tried. Really, I tried. I patted myself on the back-- and I still am- for being smart enough to wear the boot. Best decision I made in a long, long time. :p I had the group on the field to play Garden Tag and as I was shouting encouragement to the kids, I was sort of playing along. Not running, but at one point, I caught myself jumping like a frog along with them. When the game was over, I had to sit down so we played a few rounds of Nature I Spy. Then we did the seed scavenger hunt.... and *then* I was stick-a-fork-done. Heh.

The director wanted to catch up with me about some upcoming programs which meant I was off of bathroom cleaning duty. Yay!!!! It's been bonkers in the office. All of the FT staff have been out. Lauren has a bad concussion and Nicole is finishing her Master's Thesis. Anne has been trying to coordinate all of that on top of her own job. Our Earth Day Event is next Sunday, so we talked about what she would like me to do. I am running a craft table and promo-ing HS programs. AmericCorp/Watershed Ambassadors was supposed to be doing a stream study, but their funding was just cut. Anne isn't sure what that immediately means for our watershed Ambassador Partner. I might be running the stream program if she is not available or allowed to, like I said, no one knows what any of this means. We also talked about a 3-day preK summer camp that I'll run, plus we will are goin to be starting off-site programs sometime in the future that she is hoping I will lead. And she and Lauren would like me to lead some of the Forest Bathing Programs, eventually.
OMG, I came home just buzzing with excitement!
I loooove my job!!!
:dancingbfly:

Today is FP and then I need to make an example of my craft to send to the director for advertising. It's a nature self-portrait-- Make your face using natural/foraged materials. How fun is that? (I hope it is fun for the kids, I know it will be for me)
Oh that reminds me-- cute kid-comment of the day... one of the kids turned 5 a few weeks ago and because of that, I seemed smaller since he saw me in Feb, and that he is going to be as tall as me soon.
My heart... ♥

Oh and one more thing I am super excited about!!! - I am going to be writing a "Kids Corner" bit in the monthly newsletter. My idea is to review a kids' book and then have a little craft idea or activity to go with it.
Any book recs-- send them my way!!

J really wants her breakfast, lemme feed her before she passes out LOL!

Good luck, Chris! Thinking of you, be smart and careful today! :beatingheart: :beatingheart::beatingheart:
@faerywings Have a good day at work.
Thank you so much!!!
Wishing you the best day ever Chris! Hope your not too wore out!! I can just see you, getting home, hitting the couch and not moving again but the happy smile on your face will say it was so worth the effort. :heartpumppink:
*still smiling* It was worth the effort.
Caribou are still pretty darn big!! What a cool photo!
Had to get a few things at WM and decided to check out the coffeepot prices there. Turns out the exact same programable coffee pot was only $21!!!
What a process to get there, but glad you got the coffee pot for such a low price.
Great timing to get home before the dust storm hit. My lungs feel clogged up just thinking about it.
I hope DD#3 and the family are all back on the mend soon.

Time to let the puppies outside. BRB!

Took a break and spent some of the day with Ilene, Elisabeth (my daughter) and Abby, my DGD who just turned 14! We played Rummikub before we left to meet Abby's sister, Hannah (turning 21 this August) for lunch during Hannah's break from work. Hannah works for a church daycare. She talks nonstop about "her babies"
What a lovely day!
Then, remembering Mark and I were going to a concert last night, I took Ilene home and came home to get ready to leave. It was the string ensemble, a group of 5 young people who play for churches in the area. I have mentioned them before. There are 2 violinists, 1 violist, 1 cellist, and 1 pianist. They make beautiful music together.
And a lovely evening!
Fab news about the heat/motor repair.
Even being a female/spayed dog, J does the dribble too. When we would take her to the dog park, she would lift her leg like a boy LOL!

@bcgal00 Is your weather starting to warm up and stay warmer?
I have never had Shawarma Chicken, how did it come out? I have seen vegan recipes with tofu but haven't been adventurous enough to try it.

@JeanneMN I'm really glad that your doctor gave the go-ahead for the replacement. It stinks that you have to get to the point where it isn't an option before they will do it but at least everyone knows it is time.

LOL-ing at the MN Caribou!
I'll have to add Based On a True Story and Younger on my to-watch lists. We are currently watching The Residence, which is good quirky fun. Whew about getting some rain for the gardens, although it doesn't sound like quite enough.
We need rain for a lot of reasons but the stream study field trips are going to be impossible. The stream has water, but it's so low and it is mid-April. I was going to teach Vernal Pools next week and I don't think the lower pool that I can walk to is going to have enough water in it.

@mimes1 I am so glad that your neighbor saw the parakeet.
Gary texted me when I was at work that he saw the red-bellied woodpecker and pfft... I was super jealous. I see him on the feeder-cam but not yet IRL. I have been trying to keep track of what times they show up, usually between 8-9 am and 2-3 pm. I am going to have to glue myself to the window one day soon.
Glad that you had a lot of help getting ready for tomorrow.
How is Belle doing at the new(ish) job? And how is your other DD feeling with her health? (I am so sorry I can't remember her name ATM, and as soon as you say it, I am going to be Oh yeah! But for now, it's rolling in my brain too fast for me to catch it)

Better get my day started, I have a busy-ish weekend. HAGD!!!
xoxo

@faerywings I'm so glad you had a good day at work or should we call it play! Our son with the big auto repair shop says "if you love what you do,you never work a day in your life"!!!! That can be your new slogan.
now that the weekend is here I hope you can rest a little. LOL never happen with you is my guess.

@JeanneMN I hope you have good luck with your hip surgery, replacement? I had mine replaced 3 years ago bone on bone but I wore 1/4 of bone off...I was in agony, I couldn't drive for 2 months because I couldn't lift my foot up to use the brake. So my main advise is do not wait too long!

@AK_Tracy How does caribou size compare to an elk? cause we saw many elk last year in Yellowstone. They were so cool but I love buffalo best and they are HUGE!

@BrightEyes wow that sounds like a great price for a coffee pot, gotta love WallyMart. We saw a few little dust storms last year out west and wow they are pretty intense!

Getting my TSA pre-check was quick and easy(i brought my passport) but I am glad I made an appointment because walk-ins had to wait wait and wait.
I got another set of gel shots in my knees one more set but she wants to do the inside this time---ouch.
I have 3 more monarchs to release then I am done cause we will be traveling soon.
Yesterday I cleaned house, did laundry, worked on a basket for granddaughter. I cleaned and refilled the birdbaths. I got a notice from one of the state parks in Florida that they are canceling one night of our 3 night stay there because they will be working on the site. Well that really goofs up my route. I cannot find another spot there so I have been looking for other campgrounds but find a note on the route saying our trailer is over the weight limit. I will be checking into this. We leave in 3 weeks so I need to get this solved.
They came to replace some electrical stuff on the house but we lucked out and it turned out to be just a minor thing not the $2500 repair they first said it was...doing the happy dance here!
Tonight we are going to the town park for a Jimmy Buffet tribute band performance...We have seen it 2 times already but will go again...so fun and festive. I am trying to get a bunch of friends to go so it will be a fun evening for sure.
Hubby will be working at the office in the club so peace and quiet. I will clean the shed while he is gone.
We are going to Easter dinner at a friends house so I am making a spicy shrimp appetizer. I will bring some of the Loquat chutney I made and some nice wines for the table. There will be abut 15 of us so it will be a busy day there.

Ok I better get started on the shed clean-up.

Have a fabulous weekend everyOne

Yay, Chris! I know how hard it is to be "smart", good for you for taking care of yourself, I know for me that's the hardest person to be mindful of. I'm thrilled your day went so well and you even had a good time.
I enjoyed reading about your day and your job! Yay, YAY! :beatingheart:

Man alive! The excitement is just oozing out of your post! So happy you had a wonderful first day back to "work"!

Good morning, all.

IT'S RAINING!!! Doing a happy dance as it has been 150+ days since we have had more than .10" of moisture (rain or snow). dance3 :banana2::banana3::dancing6: Hoping it rains most of the day. The temp is 43*F but dropping down into the low 30's this afternoon! Glad I have not shut down the heater yet!!! Need to turn it up so the house is warm enough to take my shower. The weather station just issued a freeze warning for tonight!!! Shades of winter weather AGAIN!!!

Thanks for all the comments on my Coffee Pot saga... BTW, the coffee pot I have is still working - but is over 3 years old and that is about the life time of the ones I have had. I decided to get one before the tariffs on imports from China (and most coffee pots are imported from there) raises the price on them.

Need to get started on the laundry :laundry: as the hamper is over-flowing. I plan on staying home over the weekend so might as well get a few chores done around here. Just have to be careful with the back as it is still 'iffy'. Hope to do some scrapping after I get the laundry sorted and started.

Oh no! Maybe the hotel who cancelled you can make a suggestion for the night!

Good morning,
Looks to be a rainy day here. I am dealing with a headache this morning. Hopefully it will go away soon. I'm working in laundry today after working outside most of yesterday. Mark got the dead tree by my she shed down and not one branch hit my building. But what a mess in the yard when it hit the ground and dead branches shattered and spread all over the yard! Lots of cleanup. The good thing is all of it can be used at our pits! Even the little stuff as kindling.
I've been finding homes for some of the stuff I'm cleaning out. And the stuff no one wants will go to the thrift store.
Noah is going to come over after work and spend the night and Sunday with us.
And that is about it for me.
Have a great weekend!

Good Morning O ladies!! I am finally back to real life here at home. I should have checked in here yesterday, but we had a lovely sunny day and decided to get the back yard all spiffed up and looking beautiful again. My poor aching back and legs!! Wish I was back at the spa and had another massage appointment!! A little ibuprofen should help me out today. Our little spa getaway was just what the dr. ordered, we had such a lovely time together and the weather was spectacular especially the day that we went to the gardens. What a perfect time to go as the gardens were in full springtime splendour. I hope to get a page done from the photos I took. We hopped on the ferry to come home a little earlier than originally planned, but so glad that we did as the long weekend traffic had already began, so it was nice to be home and off the road and away from all the busy commuters! It is another sunny morning, but the clouds are moving in this afternoon and rain will begin on Sunday. Then next week looks pretty great weather wise, so the deck replacements are supposed to start on Tuesday. I am so happy that it is getting done so soon!! dance4:dancingbfly::claphands: I can't wait to be sitting out on our upper front deck in the warm weather! Today will be a laundry and cleaning the inside of the house kind of day and hopefully I can get started on a layout with the new Colour Play products!

OMG, I came home just buzzing with excitement!
I loooove my job!!!
How wonderful to hear the excitement coming through in your post this morning!! It is so great that you love your job so very much!! Good on you for making the decision to wear your boot on your first day back! All the promising new adventures for the future of your job sound wonderful too!! I will have to put my thinking cap on about a children's book for you!
got a notice from one of the state parks in Florida that they are canceling one night of our 3 night stay there because they will be working on the site. Well that really goofs up my route.
Oh man that really puts a wrench in your plans! Hope you can find somewhere to camp for that one night! They couldn't have waited for one more day to work on your site???
IT'S RAINING!!! Doing a happy dance as it has been 150+ days since we have had more than .10" of moisture (rain or snow)
Wow that's a long time to not have any significant moisture in your area!! Back to winter weather though?? brrrr!!
Looks to be a rainy day here. I am dealing with a headache this morning. Hopefully it will go away soon. I'm working in laundry today after working outside most of yesterday.
Hope your headache goes away soon Vicky!! Sounds like you had a busy day outside yesterday too. It was great to be out in the fresh air and getting my hands dirty, it sure looks like a new backyard here now! Nice that none of the branches hit your She Shed!! Your Mark must be a great lumberjack!!

Ok the coffee cup is empty and I hear my DH stirring, so I guess my day is about to get started! Have a wonderful Saturday everyone! :waving3:

Good Morning O Family!

WOO WOO!!!!!! I love this update!!! The excitement is contagious!!!!!
How does caribou size compare to an elk?
I had to ask hubs as we dont have elk here and I knew he would know LOL Elk have slightly long legs, but they are close in size.

Oh this stresses me out and its not my trip. I hope youre able to figure something out and still have a wonderful time.Thankfully you have time to figure things out. Glad it wasn't a last minute cancelation.

@vickyday all those branches to clean up sounds "fun" yeah that's what we'll call it, fun. Hope youre headache goes away. Let others clean up branches. Bending over is not fun with a headache.

@BrightEyes glad youre getting rain. We finally got sunshine. But the lack of cloud cover dropped the temp to 25* last night.

@taxed4ever Sounds like a lovely trip! The spa sounds amazing. So exciting about the deck too. Cant wait to hear you and hubs are sitting out there enjoying the quiet.

Not much planned today. Maybe sorting out the new kits I purchased. Those darn designers make such amazing kits. I might need to go back to work to afford my habit. :giggle4: Working on a fast today and ugh black coffee just isn't amazing. I hate waking up swollen and my rings are tight. Sadly, time to refill that cup with black coffee. Need the umph to get going today.

OMG, I came home just buzzing with excitement!

I was buzzing with excitement when I got out of my boot too and I still loooooved being retired.

Laundry sorted , started, and scrapping is usually the point where I forget the laundry sorted started & started part even though I'm right next to the laundry room.

@AK_Tracy Yay for ordering Caribou coffee and supporting Minnesota your climate twin, it's my favorite coffee too. When the HO HO Mint Mocha comes out at Christmas time I just have to splurge and treat myself at the one just down the street from the gym. Nothing like erasing a workout in a cup, but so worth it. I'm not a Starbucks fan, their coffee always tasted burnt to me.

@mimes1 Woo hoo to a Caribou sighting! I'm so glad they are branching out from Minnesota. You have excellent taste, which I already knew. Wowza, 2000, you have a huge congregation. You hear lots about shrinking congregations these days .

I got my layout completed this morning other than the journaling, I'll probably finish it later this afternoon . We went to pick up my bike this morning. New knobby tires look great. Picked up a couple tubes of chamois butter too and left another $250 at the bike shop. No chamois butter does not go on our popcorn, the chamois is the "cushion" in my bike . shorts , it goes there so the the woo hoo doesn't ow eee! This afternoon we're going to pull the lilies up one level closer to the top of the pond so they get more light and the water is a little warmer, whatever that is when it's not warm anywhere- Nothing else new here, hope you all have a lovely weekend, nothing special going on here (

I hear you about forgetting the laundry!!! I am right next door to the laundry room, too... and I don't always remember to switch loads when I get to scrapping!!! :floorlaugh::rotfl::lol23: Late getting my shower and haven't sorted the laundry yet!!

IT'S SNOWING!!! Big snowflakes falling - then melting as they hit the ground. It is just above freezing now but temps are still dropping. Yes, I am in sweats and have the heater running...

Need to get some lunch as I missed breakfast. BBL

:floorlaugh: :floorlaugh: :floorlaugh: I'm not laughing about the snow, it's about the laundry. That makes me feel so normal & that doesn't happen often.

We did a little garden work this afternoon. Decided it was time to bring the lilies up a little closer to the top where they were closer to sunlight and maybe the water was slightly warmer. Wendell put on his stylish waders and brought them up to the veery top so I could pick off any dead leaves that may have settled down on them. They smelled just as bad as they always do, but I was amazed at how much they had leafed out already. And they don't even go to baseball games and track meets and freeze. I came in and thawed out in a nice hot shower and then wrote the journaling for my layout, of course it turned into a short story turned long as usual. I'll plug it into the layout tomorrow.

Yes, yesterday was a back breaker for me, too! But it was good to be outside without having to be bundled up! I had to take several breaks as I was actually getting too hot!

Good Morning O Family!

The headache came and went all day yesterday. But I'm sure the bending over didn't help! Plus it caused acid indigestion which was not fun!

Happy Easter everyone. I hope you are having good weather for this spring holiday. Here in Florida we are going to have spectacular weather. Low 80's mostly sunny...oh it's almost always sunny here. It will be windy but it will feel good and love the sound when the palm branches hit together so it's ok. There is a red flag fire warning though so I hope people are careful with any fires they may have planned. We are going to a friends house so it will be fun. Too much food, drink but the laughter will be just right!
Yesterday I finished all my spray painting projects. adding red to accent the garden, red pots and trellis. I really need to paint the dock red again but not sure I will get to that before we leave.
I've narrowed down the search for a campsite so will call both places on monday to see if they have a site for us.
I talked to my dear daughter yesterday about our trip to Germany...its months away but I am getting excited. Granddaughter wanted to talk too so that was fun. She is so sweet and funny. Then later oldest grandson called so he was on speaker with us...He is so excited he got a 12% raise after they changed his position to the rental group helping with the big equipment maintenance and rental. He is planning to save all the money, he want to buy a house. Fingers crossed that works for him.
I never got to clean the shed I need to do it monday as I have nothing else on the schedule and want it done before we start our summer travels.
We went to a concert in the park last night Caribbean Chillers the Jimmy Buffet tribute band...they are so good. This is the 3rd time we saw them and were not disappointed. We went with friends so had snacks and a beer at one of the restaurants in town then walked over with our lawn chairs. It's such fun festive music and so perfect for Florida Life. It was a beautiful warm night and I didn't want it to end.

@taxed4ever You have started your retirement together in a wonderful way...I hope you keep going and find more fun things to do. The garden tour sounds fabulous so I hope to see some pages soon.

@vickyday An all day headache sounds horrible I hope that passes and that today is a better day because I'm sure its a big day at the church for you. Time for some good stuff for you after all the bad stuff that has been following you lately.

@JeanneMN doing garden work in the cold does not sound like fun at all but it will reward you with flowers which I am sure will make it all ok. I think we need to see a scrapbook page of them! Ouch even bike repairs are expensive. Enjoy it when you ride

@BrightEyes Snow ugh I thought you were done with that. I hope you get some moisture that helps not just a few big flakes. Did your rain storm help with your rain deficit? That is a long time with no rain. Do you have allot of wildfires in your area?

@faerywings I hope you get to see the red bellied woodpecker soon I have them all the time in the trees and feeders. They are very pretty birds and the unique sound they make is warning to look for them. I wish you rain so you can have a good day by the stream and your Vernal pools. Good luck with the kids corner books, I'm sure you will come up with some wonderful book/craft lessons for them.

@mimes1 Wow you are so busy with the church and that is such a large group to deal with. Happy Easter to you and all the family. So lucky that the parakeet is staying around I'm sure it's staying close to you Ms Birdlady. I will be in touch about a visit as we travel this summer. Do you know of any campgrounds right near you?

Happy Easter everyone I hope you enjoy your day.

Good morning!
This is what I did yesterday:
1745146901795.png

I made my project for Earth Day, didn't it come out cute? She even has curly(ish) hair.
Just had to post this before I get into my usual chatter.

Hi Debby! So happy you liked the craft and might do it yourself ♥
I have probably shared this before, but when I was teaching and still living at home, my dad would jokingly grumble about paying for college and me making paper dolls. 40 years later, still making my paper dolls. :p

Happy Easter to everyone who celebrates and happy Sunday to all of you. (Sure, sure-- Monday to you guys in AU. LOL)
How is your weekend going so far?
My big goals for Saturday went well. FP was busy again, but I was excited that I got a bunch of vegan items and a coconut cream pie. It was yummy! Mmm mmmm.
I also got a Seed Vault, a can of like 20 different kinds of seeds to grow your own food. It looks like a "prepper" kit but let me tell you, if I can start some of them now and have some veggies later this season, I don't particularly care how they were marketed. *giggle*

A lot of the afternoon was spent on my self-portrait and advert. I had so much fun making it and hope the kids that come to my table do too. I loved being outside foraging for the materials and got startled by a snake friend. I apologized because I startled them too. I was able to get a picture and maybe I can scrap it soon. First, I need to finish my AJ Week 4 challenge before I do anything else.

Are you doing anything special today or visiting with family/friends? We are off to Sam's sister's house and I am bringing vegan turk'y and corn casserole, which I have to make this morning. (That note is so I don't forget/lose track of time)

Sending you all big hugs today!!
xoxo

"if you love what you do,you never work a day in your life"!!!! That can be your new slogan.
So true!
Your days are always so jam-packed, I don't know how you do it. I am typically busy during the day but by 5 pm, I am toast. No way would I go out at night unless I had no choice.
Did you have any luck getting the campground issues settled? It sounds like a domino effect of one "bad" spot and then the rest goes all cattywampus. Good thoughts that it is an easy switch.
I love it when that happens-- when a repair job comes in less than expected. It happens so rarely so dance4 when it does!

Yay, Chris! I know how hard it is to be "smart", good for you for taking care of yourself, I know for me that's the hardest person to be mindful of. I'm thrilled your day went so well and you even had a good time.
I enjoyed reading about your day and your job! Yay, YAY! :beatingheart:
I think your warnings scared me enough to do the trick. LOL!!! ♥
I asked Gary (while knowing his answer already) if he thought I was being too protective/cautious if I wore the boot to work until I got full clearance from the Dr. Any guesses on what he said back? :giggle4:
It has somethin' to do about me finally using my brain! HA!!!

Man alive! The excitement is just oozing out of your post! So happy you had a wonderful first day back to "work"!
It is so much nicer reading my posts about work than me complaining about the weather, right?? :D

Kay-- soooo happy that you have rain!! Not thrilled for you that it is going to be cold but precipitation is wonderful!
BTW, the coffee pot I have is still working - but is over 3 years old and that is about the life time of the ones I have had. I decided to get one before the tariffs on imports from China (and most coffee pots are imported from there) raises the price on them.
So smart! Scott needed-but-not-really *needed* something for car camping and he did the same thing.
How is your back doing after working on the laundry, no more twinging? :praying2:

@vickyday I hope that your headache went away. I bet Mark will be getting Noah right onthe yard/branch cleanup. I'm glad that the tree didn't hit your she shed.
Our little spa getaway was just what the dr. ordered, we had such a lovely time together and the weather was spectacular especially the day that we went to the gardens. What a perfect time to go as the gardens were in full springtime splendour. I hope to get a page done from the photos I took.
Sounds amazing and no wonder you want to be back there! I can't wait ot see some of the photos.
How exciting about the deck reno starting this week!! Your your is going to be *perfect* for the end of spring and summer.
I had to ask hubs as we dont have elk here and I knew he would know LOL Elk have slightly long legs, but they are close in size.
No elk in AK or just in your area? I guess I lump moose/caribou/elk all together in my mind so to me they should be friends ;)
Those darn designers make such amazing kits.
Ummm--- I guess we shouldn't mention that this month's Color Plays are incredible?
No chamois butter does not go on our popcorn, the chamois is the "cushion" in my bike . shorts , it goes there so the the woo hoo doesn't ow eee!

This afternoon we're going to pull the lilies up one level closer to the top of the pond so they get more light and the water is a little warmer, whatever that is when it's not warm anywhere- Nothing else new here, hope you all have a lovely weekend, nothing special going on here
:rotfl: You crack me up!!
Hope that you had a wonderful time outside. Are you seeing any frog eggs yet?
IT'S SNOWING!!! B
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
:hiding1:

Here in Florida we are going to have spectacular weather. Low 80's mostly sunny...oh it's almost always sunny here. It will be windy but it will feel good and love the sound when the palm branches hit together so it's ok. There is a red flag fire warning though so I hope people are careful with any fires they may have planned. We are going to a friends house so it will be fun. Too much food, drink but the laughter will be just right!
Sounds amazing! I hope that you will be sitting and relaxing and not spending the day helping in the kitchen. Ok, so maybe not 100% sitting (I know you better than that!), but hopefully a nice balance of sitting and helping. :)

HAGD!

@faerywings funny you asked @JeanneMN about frog eggs...being from CT we used to see frog eggs, frogs at waters edge and hear them. Here in Florida I have never seen a frog unless it was caught by one of the shore birds. We hear them at night and sometimes have to shut the bedroom slider cause they are so loud. In spring we see eggs in the pond and then a hatching of babies are all over the patio, driveway and lawn. It's so wierd.

Morning all.... it is COLD this morning - 31*F!!! Brrrr!! But the good news is that it will go up into the high 60's!!! The snow didn't accumulate... but melted when it hit the ground. We got almost 1" of rain/snow. Wish it had been more but glad for what we did get. The mountain got more snow.

The laundry didn't even get started yesterday. The back said... " NO" even after my hot shower. Time to pull out the long 'reacher' and use it to hook the laundry basket and pull it to the laundry room. Thank goodness that I have a couple of the reachers to use getting clothes from washer to dryer and out again. Better go get it sorted and start the 1st load. BBL

It has somethin' to do about me finally using my brain! HA!!!
Ha! Well that makes me happy to know I helped and for sure I can guess what he answered! I can't even tell you (or want to remember) how long it took my foot to heal with mulitple interventions and not putting ANY weight on it at all for what seems (& was) forever. So, I don't mess around anymore - even now if I feel a twinge.. I stop! Mine was a stress fracture, no fun at ALL.
I am so happy for you! And for your new-found caring/cautions, you GO girl! :beatingheart:

Morning everyone and Happy Easter to those who celebrate! We are cooking a small turkey for supper tonight, not sure if the In-Laws will be joining us or not. It is a sunny morning, its not supposed to be sunny its supposed to be raining, but we will not complain!! I managed to get one page scrapped yesterday and will be working on a second one to go along with it and then will have to get them posted to the gallery later. I think that we are bottling a red wine this morning, so the music will be playing and hopefully we can have the windows open and enjoy the smell of the cherry blossoms that are everywhere now. Not much else happening around here today, so perhaps a good walk will be in order for my DH and myself. I have gained about 5 lbs since he has retired :giggle4: far too much snacking and celebrating over the past month!! Its time to get serious about eating better again!

Are you doing anything special today or visiting with family/friends? We are off to Sam's sister's house and I am bringing vegan turk'y and corn casserole, which I have to make this morning. (That note is so I don't forget/lose track of time)
Nothing special happening here for easter, the kids are all together in Niagara at the Great Wolf Lodge having a blast! Wish we were there with them all! Then our son and his lovely wife are headed to London England for my son's work and she will get to sight see for a week. Hopefully Jason will be able to get in some tourist time too! The kids will be with Jackie's godmother who lives in Ottawa very nearby.
We hear them at night and sometimes have to shut the bedroom slider cause they are so loud. In spring we see eggs in the pond and then a hatching of babies are all over the patio, driveway and lawn. It's so wierd.
That is very wierd!! We hear them also, but have on occasion found them on our front porch. Our neighbours have a pond in their backyard so we hear them croaking loudly at night too.
BBL
No :laundry: got done here either yesterday, not because of a sore back though, just being lazy LOL. Sure hope that your back is much better soon! Perhaps its that crazy weather you are having, making your aches and pains flair up? Hope the temps warm up for you!!
So, I don't mess around anymore - even now if I feel a twinge.. I stop! Mine was a stress fracture, no fun at ALL.
Good for you for listening to your body! Sorry that you have had so much trouble with your fracture! I bet it was no fun recouping from that!
the chamois is the "cushion" in my bike . shorts , it goes there so the the woo hoo doesn't ow eee!
OMG! I just love your sense of humor!! You crack me up!! :floorlaugh: I am jealous that you have a bike to ride outside and one inside too!!
The headache came and went all day yesterday. But I'm sure the bending over didn't help! Plus it caused acid indigestion which was not fun!
Sorry that your headache never really left you yesterday! Sure hope its better today! Acid reflux happens to me too when I eat and then go out and bend over in the garden, the tummy does not like that!!
We are going to a friends house so it will be fun. Too much food, drink but the laughter will be just right!
Yesterday I finished all my spray painting projects. adding red to accent the garden, red pots and trellis. I really need to paint the dock red again but not sure I will get to that before we leave.
How fun to have such great friends to celebrate with! You must have an amazing garden and dock!

Ok I am off to strip the bedding and get the :laundry: started then help my DH get the red wine bottled this morning. Have a great Sunday everyone, watch out for those bunnies!! :bunny:

Good Morning!
Happy Easter! He is Risen!!

Beautiful sunny morning but like Kay, chilly. But we wont get up to 60, we might hit 48. Maybe 50 if youre in the sun.

I've narrowed down the search for a campsite so will call both places on monday to see if they have a site for us.
I know it wont be ideal and if it is just one night, maybe it would work but can you camp at Walmart? People do that here. They have a special section of the parking lot marked out for motorhomes and 5th wheels and people came there overnight. Its minimal, no water, no sewer but they know people will buy stuff and they never stay more than a couple days. When the fish run the people camp at Walmart as all the campgrounds are packed.
No elk in AK or just in your area?
None in our area and few across the state. Some in Kodiak but I'm not sure where else but its minimal. Caribou and Moose are the big ones here.

Just wanted to pop in and say Happy Easter. Off to get the fam moving! Have a wonderful day!

Happy Easter everyone. I am home today relaxing before my busy week starts up again. Its snowing outside but its not sticking to the ground and its not too cold out. But I am looking forward to getting back to normal spring weather in a few days again. The fluctuation in weather at this time of the year is crazy. Everyone had shorts and sandals on a few days ago and now this LOL. I'm accepted at a few Calgary artisan markets this summer so am busy designing jewelry to sell. I ordered magnifier glasses so maybe I can work on some wire wrapping as I watch tv for a few hrs at night. I have a good magnifier lamp in my office but don't want to move that around and my small portable one is ok to use but wearing glasses I think will be even better. We'll see. They are coming today so I'll try them out tonight. We have 3 episodes left of Extracted (reality survivalist show) before the finale this week so we'll binge that later.

@faerywings The chicken was really good. The harissa paste and tahini sauce were drizzled overtop when serving and neither of us found it too spicy.

@taxed4ever Sounds like a wonderful getaway for you two. I'm jealous you have spring flowers now, we sure don't yet, not til end of May, beginning of June. Shorter growing season here.

We won't be making a big dinner today and we'll all ok with that. But enjoy Easter dinner, those that are having it today.

Good afternoon,
Happy Resurrection Day! We are just chillaxing with Noah in front of the TV watching crime shows.
I'm also working on church stuff. No other plans!

An all day headache sounds horrible I hope that passes and that today is a better day because I'm sure its a big day at the church for you. Time for some good stuff for you after all the bad stuff that has been following you lately.
I woke up with the headache again today, and it's trying to come back, but at least it has been gone most of the day!

I've narrowed down the search for a campsite so will call both places on monday to see if they have a site for us.
Good job! Good news!
didn't it come out cute? She even has curly(ish) hair.
Indeed! Love it!
I loved being outside foraging for the materials and got startled by a snake friend.
YIKES!
Are you doing anything special today or visiting with family/friends?
nada...just watching TV
I hope that your headache went away. I bet Mark will be getting Noah right onthe yard/branch cleanup. I'm glad that the tree didn't hit your she shed.
It did after I took meds this morning, but its trying to come back so I will take something after this. Nope! Mark quit before Noah got here yesterday and today he is resting!
I have gained about 5 lbs since he has retired :giggle4: far too much snacking and celebrating over the past month!! Its time to get serious about eating better again!
But, you've had such fun gaining those 5 lbs!
Sorry that your headache never really left you yesterday! Sure hope its better today! Acid reflux happens to me too when I eat and then go out and bend over in the garden, the tummy does not like that!!
Yes, acid reflux is no fun! But, I'm glad/not glad to hear it's not just me that has the problem of acid reflux after eating and bending over!
