See that exclamation point I put in the subject line? Is that because I am super-duper excited and happy?

:hahano:

It is because I am *pretending* to be super-duper excited and happy.
Guess what it looks like outside?
It looks gross. Gross and yucky and just ICK! Snow and slush and the roads and cars are all covered. Caitlyn has to go to work today and the road she takes closed at 5 am. Hopefully, it will be open by the time she leaves here.
The weather matches my mood. I got good news from the doctor, but not good enough. Again, I totally expected what I heard, I only wished for better. The break is healing but still there. I can start coming out of the boot and when I do, I need to wear sturdy shoes. That's cool. He said as long as I am careful, working on Friday should be fine. But I am not allowed to hike yet, nor garden unless I am sitting with my foot out straight. No crouching or flexing my foot hard. It all makes sense but it doesn't mean I have to like it. Right? :tongueout1:
I let Lauren know that I am limited on the rotations for the field trips I am signed up for and she is fine with working around that for me. I really work with the most amazing people.

I don't have any plans today. Dinner is a little more complicated than I have been doing so I'll be doing it all day in stages. I am making homemade flatbreads with roasted broccoli, lemon ricotta, and hot honey. One tray will be vegan so Tom can eat them too.
Other than that, I started a LO for Jeanne's challenge that needs some finishing touches and upload that when I am done.

Have a fantastic day, my dears! Please send sunshine!

@tanteva That is the cutest LO! Do you have specific members in mind for each animal? LOL! (I call dibs on the rat, hahah!)

@BrightEyes So happy that you are feeling better. You always get so many books and DVDs when you go to the library so I am excited to hear what goodies you snagged this time.
You want this snow?? Take it, take it all!

How did I know that you might think of that!
You know me too well! :p
How is the weather but you? Did you get snow or just rain? I saw on FB that Wantage (northwest of me) got 5"!
We apparently got enough to plow. I just heard them drive past.

Oh my goodness. How did I end up with 6 loads of laundry? Rainy day, inside with the washing machine going, and I have to finish up writing this darn grant application today. I am grouchy.
I don't blame you for being grouchy. We can be grouchy together. Although I truly hope you aren't still feeling grouchy.
LOL at your mail situation. My BFF is going away in July, and Scott usually stays over at her house to dogsit. Scott and her other neighbor BFF are all away the same week as her and she doesn't know what she will do about her dog.

@vickyday OMG!!! You look amazing!! Wow! I love that cut, and the color looks wonderful and radiant on you. How many inches did you cut? Just wait until all of your friends see it! Have fun today!

@JeanneMN How are you feeling today? Any less congested?
Feel free to join the Grouchy Club with me.

Kay-- :woohoo:on finding your book! And all of the DVDs too. I'm glad that you didn't go to the base, take it easy today if you need that.

Glad to hear the foot is healing, even tho it is slow-going!
Wish I could send you some sunshine! We haven't had any for a couple of days.....but at least it isn't snowy here!

You know me too well! :p

Good morning! It's been raining/sleeting all night and morning and got a little snow, but nothing that stuck. My friend in Randolph got enough that's it's still there and the town plowed her little street and the side street, it's just crazy! I was so annoyed yesterday leaving @8am, it felt so raw and cold when I went out and as I drove by my lawn I realize - it needs mowing. SERIOUSLY????? It's like insult on top of injury.

I can't believe someone got 5" - that is truly insane....

Take care, Chris.... :beatingheart:

Thanks to everyone for your thoughts on my log in issues. Ona reset my Password and so far I was able to sign into the Forum and Store on my phone, hopefully the iPad will follow!

Vicky, your new photo is so pretty! @vickyday
(It IS new, right? Not just that I haven't been paying attention! :lovey3:

Thank you! She probably cut 5-6 more inches off the length.....and that after I had cut 5" off a couple weeks ago! The color....yeah, all naturelle. The curl, again, all naturelle! I used to keep my hair short all the time but with DH#1 I had to straighten it! Not for DH#2! He loves it curly! I'm glad he does!

Good Morning,
Busy day here today. Everyone is expected to arrive somewhere between noon and 1ish for the target practice/picnic in the woods.
It is 45 degrees outside and 64 degrees in the house....Yup! The furnace is out again! The reset button didn't work this time! Our HVAC guy has been contacted but no word back yet.
Since it is so chilly in the house, the butter would not soften for the cookies, so I had to zap it for 10 seconds before I could even think about mixing it into the cookie mix with my weak wrists!
My back is out of sorts today, so I'm having to work in stages.....resting it in between with the heating pad. It is what it is! When I said that to Mark he said, "We're having to say that more and more as we get older, aren't we?!" YUP! Tis true!
Still have to fix the hamburger for the hot dog chili. I'm going to kill 2 birds with one stone and cook up the meat for some of the enchiladas I'm fixing for tomorrow's church dinner. We have a visiting missionary that we support coming to preach. His home (he was born there to missionary parents) and mission is in Papua New Guinea. I love listening to his Australian accent! I also need to cut up some onion for the hotdogs today. For tomorrow, I will be making triple berry cobbler and served with French vanilla ice cream. The church is supplying the fried chicken and some other sides while the ladies bring the rest of the items....potato salad, etc. etc.
Noah is coming to spend the night after he gets off work this afternoon. He will enjoy eating lunch with us at church. We will probably order pizza again for him tomorrow night.
OK gotta get busy again since I gave my back a few minutest rest.
Have a great day!

(It IS new, right? Not just that I haven't been paying attention! :lovey3:
Thanks, Marilyn! I am loving it! Doesn't even look too bad after I slept on it last night, LOL! Just gave it a finger-fluffing and I'm good to go! ;)
Also, glad your password problems are better.....so far!

Morning O ladies! It is a beautiful sunny morning (sorry @faerywings ). I will try to send you some of this lovely weather today. I was MIA from here yesterday as DH and myself were not feeling great, not anything contagious, just self inflicted party sickness :giggle4: . FIL's 91st birthday turned into a very late night with far too much wine flowing and we paid for it the next day! So we were really dragging our butts all day long. I did manage to get a layout almost completed and we did get the car washed and went for a walk to get some fresh air. That was about it. Today my Gary is working at the Municipal Election and SIL's Linda, Sharon and I are all going to the Downtown Farmers Market after we vote. SIL Sharon will not be voting as she doesn't live here, but it shouldn't take too long. I just wanted to pop in to say :wavinghello: and hope that you all have a great Saturday!
The break is healing but still there. I can start coming out of the boot and when I do, I need to wear sturdy shoes. That's cool. He said as long as I am careful, working on Friday should be fine
I am happy to hear that your foot is healing and that you can start to slowly get out of that darn boot! You should wear your hiking boots around the house LOL I bet you look cute in those sturdy shoes!! Sorry you are having such crap weather! I will send you some sunshine today!
I can't believe someone got 5" - that is truly insane....
That really is insane!!
Thanks to everyone for your thoughts on my log in issues. Ona reset my Password and so far I was able to sign into the Forum and Store on my phone, hopefully the iPad will follow!
Glad that you got your password changed and keeping my fingers crossed that the iPad will also work!

Ohhh nooo not again!! Ugh! It's always something right?!! BTW I love your new photo!! Hope that you have a great time with everyone today! A picnic in the woods sounds fun!

Ok I gotta get ready to go, I am driving and need to get something quick to eat before I head out. Have a wonderful Saturday everyone! :waving3:

Good Morning Ladies!

@faerywings Chris I am glad to hear your foot is healing. sorry its going slower then you wanted. Please dont over do it with the sturdy shoes and thinking youre wonder woman. I'm glad you'll be able to help at work now though. I know you need that outside time and it will restore your soul. :heartpumppink:

@MariJ Yeah Marilyn!!!! Glad the pw change worked and youre not able to keep up here and shop on all devices :giggle4: Its the little things, like popping in here on the run that keep us happy.

@vickyday I love the new do Vicky and I'm glad Mark likes it too. Hope its easy maintenance.

@taxed4ever Sounds like FIL birthday party was a blast Trudy. Glad you were both able to take it easy yesterday.

@BoatLady Hope you have a nice quiet weekend planned Debby.

Weekend is going to be slow and low key. One lunch date and the rest will be rest. We have a smidge of sunshine. No snow today, so far, but not holding my breath.

Off to get more coffee. Have a great Saturday!

Love going to Farmers' Markets! I never think about going to them this early in the year!

Yes, if it isn't one thing it's another! Its the original furnace from 1962, so I am afraid we will be having to replace it sooner or later! Our HVAC said he will pamper it until it becomes absolutely necessary to replace it. It's getting to the point where the parts are hard to find!
Thanks! I'm loving my new hair style so far!

Thanks! So far so good on the maintenance! Got up this morning and just ran my fingers through it to de-flatten it out some, LOL! I'll wash it for church tomorrow, but not today!

Good morning ladies. I'm going to enjoy staying around the house (mostly) for the wkend. Darrell had surgery last week (Crohn's related) and is now home resting and moving around a bit. He went to the seniors club for potluck dinner and dice game (about 30 of us go) and he lasted the 3 hrs but then came home and slept in his chair for 2 hours. He woke up and we binged a few episodes of Tracker and then went to bed.

I need to do all the things this wkend - scrap, design jewelry, housework, laundry, groceries, dog walks, read & binge more shows.

Next week is a very busy wk for me so I'll enjoy some time at home now.

We get our first meal kit order on Monday. Can't wait. It'll make dinnertime so much easier and faster. I ordered 3 days of meals (6 meals) and D will have 4 of them and I'll have two. I'll be out for dinner a few times this wk so that only leaves a few days to plan for. I can't believe I'm retired but have no time to cook LOL.

Made a new friend (at Michaels store) a few days ago and we're going to get this wk and she'll show me her design studio at home. She's been designing and teaching jewelry classes for 20 years. It's going to be a fun time! I talked her (and her hubby) into joining the seniors club so they can come play euchre with us all on Tuesdays.

@faerywings I'm jealous that you are starting to get so many birds in your area. The birds are slow to migrate back to Alberta so right now only a few have returned. We are enjoying watching mama robin in the yard. We are watching to see if she starts up the next again under the upper deck.

@taxed4ever How is retired life for G going? Is he keeping busy?

I'm going to have one more coffee and then get out for a walk with Remi before I settle into my office for a good portion of the day.

First of all @vickyday the new haircut looks awesome on you. I feel for you having to deal with that old heating system I hope it all works out. It's not fun being cold. I hope your picnic in the woods sound fabulous but a little warmer would be nice.

@MariJ glad your computer issues worked out.

I feel bad for those of you with snow last night who do not want it. We had rainy night but we needed it.

@AK_Tracy Quiet weekend??? probably with change knowing you. No snow, my daughter had 2 inch's last night

@taxed4ever I had to have day after party feeling. It's like loosing a day...just a waste.

Thusday I got the first of 3 gel shots in my knees so they felt funny the rest of the day. Hubby smokes salmon for me to take to the pot luck at Bunko I lost again.

Friday I cleaned house, yard work and then out to dinner with friends. When we got home our neighbors came over so we had drinks on the patio till 10, it was so mice and all my garden lights looked so pretty.

This morning I went over to the club to teach a lady to basket weave, Lucky me we had leftovers from dinner last night so lunch was easy peasy. At 4 we are going to the Thank You party from our friends who we helped when their house got flooded. Till then I will be working on a special basket for granddaughter.

Have a fabulous weekend.

David and I biked along a few miles of trail this afternoon, making a list of after-winter fix ups we need to schedule work days for. We are still missing a couple benches that disappeared in last fall's floods, and there's a bridge that's looking kind of catawumpus we probably should re-build. And always odds and ends of work here and there. In a couple weeks the briars will trying to take over. But today I got distracted by the pretty violets all through the trails and the dogwoods in bloom in the woods.
20250412_140117.jpg

My daughter is working on getting a notarized document I will have to bring with us when we take the grandkids over the border into Canada. It seems to involve a lot of running around. I almost feel guilty for making her go through it all, but not quite.

Thank you, Debby! I love the haircut!
I think it was warmer outside in the sun than it feels here in the house, LOL! And it wasn't that warm outside, especially in the woods! But standing around a fire roasting hotdogs....what's not to love, right?

Thanks, Marilyn! I am loving it! Doesn't even look too bad after I slept on it last night, LOL! Just gave it a finger-fluffing and I'm good to go! ;)
Also, glad your password problems are better.....so far!
Oh I love it, flattering and easy - win/win!
And I’m writing this from my iPad, it worked! :beatingheart:

Good morning and Happy Sunday to you all! I have another exclamation point there and I am sort of pretending to be excited about the day. My mood isn't as bad as yesterday but still not great.
It snowed on and off almost all day, and then it rained most of the night. The sump pump is running this morning so the ground must be pretty soggy. At least the rain washed most of the snow away. There are still a few patches of under the trees and my car is semi-covered but that should be gone soon.

I was feeling wistful while scrapping my page for Jeanne's vacation challenge. Looking at photos from past trips down the shore made me wish for that kind of weather as well as to be there. I didn't do much else. I stayed out of the boot most of the day. Walking feels weird. My ankle is pretty stiff and now I am worried I won't be ready to work on Friday.

I hate being a Debbie Downer so let me see what I can share that was good from yesterday.
*puts on Thinking Cap~~~> :party1:*

1. My dad had a good visit with a new ENT and he goes back in a few weeks for an evaluation for a better-than-Costco set of hearing aids. Since his hearing is due to a bunch of different issues in each ear, I don't think Costco was the right place for him to go. Same as why I wouldn't want Gary to go to Walmart for his diabetic retinopathy but I was fine going there for regular contacts.
2. I caught a video on my feeder of a house finch feeding his partner. She was sitting next to him with her mouth wide open and he was giving her seeds. Gary googled it and found out it is courtship feeding. Pretty amazing to see it!
3. My whole family is now addicted to watching the birds. Even Tom was showing me a video of a blue jay on the wire outside his window. :D

You know what? I *am* in a better mood! That exclamation point is meant sincerely. ♥

My plans for today: grocery order. That's it. HAGD!

:hug4:

My friend in Randolph got enough that's it's still there and the town plowed her little street and the side street, it's just crazy! I can't believe someone got 5" - that is truly insane....

Take care, Chris.... :beatingheart:
My brother lives in Denville right off of Rt 10 and he got 3-4 inches. So
Gary said the same about how weird it looked to see the snow covering the tiger lily stalks. It's like when we had that October blizzard and then the leaves fell on top of the snow.
Hope that the weather warms up soon!
Thank you! She probably cut 5-6 more inches off the length.....and that after I had cut 5" off a couple weeks ago! The color....yeah, all naturelle. The curl, again, all naturelle!
Wow!! That's a lot of hair. Be careful next time you shampoo, you know you're going to end up using way too much! LOL
How was the get-together? Have fun at the church dinner today, too.
Since it is so chilly in the house, the butter would not soften for the cookies, so I had to zap it for 10 seconds before I could even think about mixing it into the cookie mix with my weak wrists!
You could have tried Caitlyn's method- sticking them in your waistband. Kay @BrightEyes would get a kick out of that!
I hope that your furnace and your back are both working better.

@taxed4ever I saw the LO of you and SIL on Facebook, I loved it!
I'm sorry that you felt the aftereffects of FIL's party but am happy that it was such a good time!
Yup, I am wearing my hiking shoes in the house and will switch to the boots in another day or so. I got a new pair of above-the-ankle boots for Christmas that I want to break in before Friday but I want my ankle to feel a little stronger before I shove my feet into them. ;)

Baby steps!!!! without the boot with sturdy shoes.....You are gaining on it.
You are right and I am impatient.
(No kidding, she says... haha!)

TY! I know you totally get the impatience I am struggling with. If the weather was better here, I would go sit in my backyard, maybe pick up some sticks, but considering it feels like I live in AK... nope! Not today!
Hope you are enjoying the quiet-ish weekend!

So many good pampering thoughts to your furnace, Vicky!

@bcgal00 Well, you called it about D needing to have surgery. Poor guy. I hope he is feeling back to normal very soon.
That is going to be a lot of fun! I bet you are going to come home with so many new ideas for designing and studio set-up.
I saw on FB that hummingbird sightings are starting in South Jersey. I'll probably start putting my feeder out at the end of the week, maybe early next week if it stays this cold.

If you all think I am obsessed with the song birds at my camera feeder, I don't want to think of how crazy I am going to be with hummingbirds. Remember how I would share that we'd be having dinner and I would see one and make everyone freeze so I could watch? It is going to be BAD! (In a great way. LOL)
Thusday I got the first of 3 gel shots in my knees so they felt funny the rest of the day
Are they feeling any less weird? Hope that the gel works!
Seems like you stayed busy -and on your feet- since then.

@Terri M Pretty violets!!
I hope that you can find the bendches or do you think they are gone for good?
I almost feel guilty for making her go through it all, but not quite.
:giggle4:
I don't blame you!

Morning, all. I see I missed posting yesterday... wonder why??? :rotfl: I did go back to the library sale yesterday and scored on 6 more DVD's and 3 more paperbacks. 2 of the books are for DD#1. She is hooked on Kay Hooper's books and I got those for her. And the other one was for me. :D Then went to the Used DVD/Book store and ended up with 6 more DVDs and another book I was missing in a series. Had lunch then watched a DVD. I was feeling cold - even though the temp in the house was 72*F and 85*F outside. Guess I am still recovering as I fell asleep when reading a book and napped for over an hour!!! I was in bed and asleep by 8:30PM and slept until 7:30AM!!! I had planned on doing a few chores today but think I will just take it easy today so I will be up to making the trip to the base tomorrow. I am down to just a few of my reflux pills so really need to pick up my Rx's. So will make up my grocery list today since the brain may not be firing on all cylinders...

@faerywings good news that you can start weaning off of the boot and into sturdy shoes... (no hiking yet, gal!!). Sorry that your area is still having winter weather... snow/ice!!!

@MariJ Hoorah!!! Glad the PW reset worked and you could sign in on the iPad!!!

@bcgal00 You are one busy gal.... especially since you moved. Glad you met the gal at Michaels - bet you learn alot from her.

BBL

Gary said the same about how weird it looked to see the snow covering the tiger lily stalks. It's like when we had that October blizzard and then the leaves fell on top of the snow.

It's so weird indeed. I'm actually down Rt 10 a piece and my friends in Livingston seemed to be a line of sorts where we got flurries/snow but it only stuck to cars in early morning and that was it. The more west you went, the more snow there was.

And, oh my....... That October blizzard was one of the worst in different ways. The heavy snow on branches still full of leaves caused so many trees and huge branches to fall that it made travel difficult for a few days. I live literally a stone's throw away from Rt 280 and my cousin came to pick me up. It literally took him an hour to get to my house from there because every street he tried to go down was closed because of the debris. That sure was an awful and strange storm.

Me too wishing for warmth. RIght now I"m wishing at least it stays above freezing, that's crazy!
At least the temps will be higher today even though it's still dreary out. Can't have it all I guess... . :beatingheart:

Morning everyone! It's another lovely sunny morning. I really need to get back to eating properly I have gained over this past month with all the birthday parties etc. Hoping to get my DH out for a good walk today! However the :laundry: :vacuuming::housekeeping:all needs to be done today too! Tomorrow is my 69th birthday and my Sister Wendy and my SIL Veronica are taking me out for lunch. It will be so good to catch up with them both! Then on Tuesday my Gary and I are off to the Brentwood Bay Spa and Resort for a couple of days and we are going to have great weather so we will go to the Butchart Gardens as it is very close to the Resort! I am looking forward to my day of pampering! I am having a massage and a facial done while we are there on day two. Yesterday we had a wonderful time wandering around the Farm Market and I purchased some fresh eggs, cheese and a cute little romper style dress to wear this summer. Linda, Sharon and I went to a Brew Pub for lunch that was right next to the Market and Linda bought my lunch for my birthday. So very nice of her! So many great vendors and fun things going on at the Market every Saturday. My DH worked the Municipal Election all day from 8am -8pm and he was pretty done by the time he got home! We watched a bit of TV and then we were both off to bed by 10pm. I think he will think twice before doing that again :giggle4:. I think he is hoping to get some yard work done today, but other than that it will be a laid back day again today.

You know what? I *am* in a better mood! That exclamation point is meant sincerely. ♥
LOL you talked yourself into a much better frame of mind! So fun that you are enjoying the birds at your feeder so much!
I got a new pair of above-the-ankle boots for Christmas that I want to break in before Friday but I want my ankle to feel a little stronger before I shove my feet into them. ;)
What kind of high top boots did you get?? I have a pair of Hoka hikers, high topped and I just love them! They will be my all year round boots, I don't think I will wear my others ever again.
My goodness Kay you sure scored on all the DVD's and Books! So sweet of you to get the books for your DD too! Sorry you are feeling cold, guess you are still not 100% over your illness.

We are having great weather, but my gosh the breeze is still very chilly here, we need some warmth too.
This morning we had otters visit our dock they haven't been round in a year. Momma O and at least 3 babies. Video and pics on my FB page,
Oh Darn that link did not work for me, it took me to your facebook page, but no video :sad2:.
Well its time to get some brunch going and get busy with the housework today. Have a great Sunday everyone! :waving3:

Good morning ladies. Yesterday flew by but I got a few things accomplished and will try to get more done today. Remi is loving the different pathways we are walking these days. It amazes me how many ponds and walkways there are here. We had snow yesterday (yikes) but this morning the sun is out, the temps are rising and the 1 or so of snow will be gone by tomorrow. Then it's back to spring weather. Crazy temp fluctuations in Alberta but we are getting used to it. I hope I find a balance for my scrapping b/c I sure don't have time for it right now. I don't really want to give it up but I have to figure out how to have time for it. I know the jewelry designing time will slow down once I stockpile enough for the store (if I go that route) and the artisan markets but right now I am designing at least 2-4 hrs a day. Good thing I love it :)

@faerywings It will be so exciting if you get the hummers. I really miss them. I know we get a few out here but I didn't see any last summer so not expecting to this summer either. We got mama robin back and she is claiming her space for a new nest. That'll be fun to watch again.

@BoatLady I know I've said it before but you sure live in an amazing place for wildlife/birds. I'm so jealous!

@BrightEyes Enjoy your quiet day. I too like Kay Hooper books.

I need one more coffee and then will get on with my day.

. . . Thusday I got the first of 3 gel shots in my knees so they felt funny the rest of the day. Hubby smokes salmon for me to take to the pot luck at Bunko I lost . . .
Debby, I thought you had knee replacement?? Or did you have surgery for something else? Do you still get gel shots afterwards? The gel shots worked on one of my knees, but isn’t helping the other knee. Had my last gel shot last week and Doctor said next step is knee replacement UGH. My knee felt funny for a couple days. I hope you get some relief.
