I am loving the papers in the Christmas collab by NLD Designs (also still using my laptop instead of my desktop, so don't have much of a stash). Still using Affinity, still hate its GUI (wanna talk about trying one's patience??!!). Found out that you can't copy styles between text layers (there...

Poem:
Patience by Emily Dickinson
Patience – has a quiet Outer –
Patience – Look within –
Is an Insect’s futile forces
Infinites – between –
‘Scaping one – against the other
Fruitlesser to fling –
Patience – is the...

I am continuing a discussion of problems creating a pencil sketch (either from scratch or by recording a macro) in Affinity in this post https://oscraps.com/community/threads/affinity-scrapper-anyone.34399/post-736429
Turns out that macro creation in Affinity has significant limitations...
vector = mathematical construct - computer generates image based on numerical data that specifies shape, color, size and the like. Can be scaled up and down without loss of quality - the program just does some recalculations to give you the new size
rasterized = pixel image; image made of tiny...
I've been finding that a lot of things that work in either an image or a raster later in Photoshop work only on a raster layer in Affinity. So if something like a sketch effect didn't work on a photo, I would wonder if you'd rasterized the photo before running the macro. In Photoshop if a macro...
This was relatively easy to "logic" out without a tutorial except for one thing - knowing that you need to rasterize both the main layer and the effects layer (but you would have quickly figured that when things didn't work as expected). However, I like the tutorial because it's also a good...
This post is more about AI, but the beginning explains how I "colored" my base AI images with digiscrapping paper (pretty straightforward) https://oscraps.com/community/threads/google-gemini-ai-images-from-verbal-prompts.41477/
Ona suggested having a central thread for Affinity hints, so I'm posting process notes for this LO
I still have the same complaints I did in 2021 about Affinity and I am sticking to v1 because the v2 GUI was even worse for me given my low vision issues. But I'm more willing to scrap with it and...

Thanks for the challenge Nancy. Am getting the hang of doing what I want to do in Affinity (or at least knowing when not to bother), although I won't say it's entirely fun. But messing around at Google Gemini has been a useful and sometimes fun learning experience.

@Su_Sanne - Thanks for telling me about Bing Create (which relies on Dall-E)
Here are my experiments. Interesting that none of the AI engines can reliably determine what a creature's right and left are. (It'd be bad news if the AI engines were surgeons or even interventional radiologists).
