Driving down a little street in my town yesterday, I spotted these beautiful tulips outside the white picket fence of a modest little "cottage." The house my mother bought for the two of us after she was widowed had a white picket fence, and I remember that such was the dream of movie characters many years ago. Seems like "too small" a dream any more. That's sad to me.
