Notes in Photoshop Elements 14

I started by combining two papers for my background, layering Artsy Paper #4 over Artsy Paper #1. When I stack papers. sometimes I blend them with modes and sometimes I don't. This was a case of don't, because while I did like the bottom of AP#4, I wanted to keep the pattern at the top of AP #1. So I blended them together, whisking away the top part of Artsy Paper #4 with a layer mask and Artsy Brush. I blended in my photo next, using inverted masking. Because of the arch, the Swiss Guards were very dark, so much of my work on this layout involved brightening them within the background with a couple of levels layers and then, finally, using a pale yellow FotoGlow (pirated from the MultiMedia Suns set) to create a little radiance on the walkway. I added the title and journaled the story about why this photo matters to me, then added a few embellishments at upper left. At the end, I went back and added three transfers/overlays from the Artplay Palette. While many of my layouts have a gazillion layers, this one wound up with only 9 (excluding the embellishments and text layers). When I was done, I felt as efficient and precise as a Swiss Guard.
Beautiful page and once again great journaling. Who won that argument? Did you get soap? I can imagine all the hand gestures. Too funny! Love the placement of the glow on that marvelous photo.

Wonderful colors and lighting! Gives a very mysterious feeling!
Makes me think of a Dan Brown novel :)
