Notes for Photoshop Elements 14

This is a piece about the United States Presidential campaign. I wanted to make a page for my scrapbook documenting the peculiar spirit of this election season for future generations, and I was lucky enough to have these screen shots from a music video that my daughter and partner are in. When I am working on a piece that is more about content than it is about artful presentation, sometimes it is hard to get started and to balance the artsy look that I love with the message that I want to convey. Later in the month, over on the aA blog, I will be talking about one way I evolve ideas in this situation.

Because of the subject matter, I chose to incorporate a word time bomb made with quotes from Marshall McLuhan, the philosopher who coined the phrase the media is the message. I saved the time bomb in black on whiteby using screen blending mode I was able to knock out the background without having to do a laborious extraction.
