turned it into a .jpg and ran Anita's watercolor action.
deleted the background.
it's set to overlay blending mode
duplicated the treated layer, ran "find edges"
messed with blending mode there too, but don't recall what it is.
messed with opacity on each
in a mask lightened the edges of the figure on the 'find edges' layer.

don't know if that's enough for you to do the same.
