The Last Word

I always finish up my yearly book with some closure on the goals of the year. My goals for the year page can be seen here https://ozone.oscraps.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=423179&title=2020-one-little-word&cat=all

I started with a white background and a screen shot of my 1000 consecutive days of yoga achievement. Not nearly enough for a page. Added in a photo of the last roses of the year, clipped to the FotoBlendz of Incandescent FotoBlendz, with the glows moved around and the stains filled with a green. I needed to fill out the FotoBlendz so I duplicated the photo to the left and lowered the opacity.
Then I pulled in a Pink Patterned Paper from Kitschmas. To remove the darker red and Christmas images, I placed a White Patterned Paper over it, reversed masked it, then brushed in white with a large drippy Brush. Back to the left, I decided to desaturate the screen shot (it was blue) and frame it, then added the image from Yoga Word Art and the 'Every Day' linear word from Hinterland. The goal words scattered around the page are from my earlier page. In all the thousands of pages I've made I don't think I ever divided a page like this, using the full 12" papers. I like it! But wanted a clear divider so added the Straight Line Stitching.

I'll include the journaling in a comment.
It was a year that started with such hope. I was going to listen hard, observe, keep moving, stay young at heart, read, practice yoga, meditate, plant a garden, and be kind. Then Covid-19 happened. But you know what? I listened harder than ever - to the news, to all those around me, to books, to myself. I observed harder than ever, to every blooming thing, to every day with the people walking or running by the house, to the numbers, to every bit of joy around me. We kept moving, blessed to be able to go outdoors and move. We traveled locally so we could hike. We hiked at Mount Ranier, at Mount Hood, at the Oregon Coast, and at the Oregon Dunes. We had a successful garden, harvesting basketfuls of tomatoes. I read 54 books, sometimes reading as many as 5 books at a time. I learned to practice yoga at home, discovered Yoga with Adriene, and developed a daily practice. I meditated every day, achieving a run streak of 1000 consecutive days. We saw so much kindness around us. People spending more time with their families, crossing streets to stay apart, putting out signs and painting rocks and offering help. I put out quilts to entertain all the passers-by. So take that, virus. You did not get the better of us, you just made us better, stronger, more resilient, adaptable. You did not keep me from achieving my goals, you taught me how to achieve them in the face of challenges. I have the last word, and it is hope.

Your journaling is incredible, Diane. Congratulations on the Headspace (I love Andy's voice). Such a can-do spirit is inspiring and it's a great way to close out one book...and start another.

This just fits with how I think of you ... fabulous. Hoping your positivity is infectious one person at a time. Beautiful pages.

Love your positive message and your gorgeous roses. Congrats on the Standing O.

What a wonderful way to finish off your year; the photo of the roses is gorgeous and I really like how you divided the pages. Congrats on your Standing O!
