The Cat's Meow

Some of my relatives and their dogs :)

Journaling: I come from a long line of dog people. Dogs were a happy part of my childhood. There was Little Girl, who I remember being passed out a window by a fireman when we had a toaster fire in our kitchen. I think I was five. Then there was Midnight, a rambunctious, medium-sized dog that loved to bark. We had Bagel, a small spotted dog with a wiry tail. As teens, my sister had Oliver and Fred, both English Springer Spaniels. She, by the way, now lives with four dogs, two of them Great Danes. My brother and his family are partial to Chihuahuas. Ive only had one dog as an adult. She was a rescue named Annabelle. I had her for 19 years. She died the day Obama was elected to his first term as president. After losing Annabelle, I never could bring myself to adopt another dog. Instead, some years later, I adopted my first kitty (they are all kitties to me, even the older ones). Currently, I have three felines ... Brad, Podgy, and Ellie. Ive always been the family rebel (not usually in a bad way) and I am proud to say that, despite my lineage, I am the familys first official cat person!

Process...
Well ... I am enjoying working with tape and trying to figure out the best way to stack it and shadow it. I started with an artsy paper from APP Riant. I chose this paper because I like the geometric shapes on the left and right. I took the .psd file for the MM Accordion frame and clipped my photos to the various masks. Then, I added layers of tape over the frame and tried to give the tape some depth. Under the frame, I stacked elements from the Dog Sampler and the slide reel. On the left there is a dog transfer blended over the background paper and tape added around the square. The title is two layers. I masked out parts of the title on each layer to get the two-toned look. I added the journaling and those little dog paws across the page and called it done.

Thanks for looking :)
I completely understand that you were wary of another dog after having one for 19 years...and cats are really fun too (in their own special somewhat annoying way) Awesome lay out!

Magnifique page. Et je comprends votre difficult reprendre un chien aprs la peine de la perte de votre chien.

a magnificent page! I too love dogs, we also had an English Setter, called Look a dog love, we lost him in 2011 he was 14 years old and our sorrow at his evocation is still the same!

We used to have dogs, but now cats are easier and I love my two. I love your heritage pages and this one is marvelous!

Adore everything, especially the journaling. Cat people are the best! My BFFF (best feline furry friend) Baxter lived to be 19. Someday soon, I hope to find another BFFF.
