I reach for goals, but falter on the way,
My cravings lead my will astray.

The diet’s path, so narrow and steep,
Yet I find solace in the food I keep.
Ashamed, I stare at crumbs, a silent plea,
Why do I sabotage the best of me?

Each bite, a battle lost to fleeting need,
Each sigh, a whisper of my inner plead.
To understand this tangled, wayward heart,
Is to untangle where my fears do start.

In this struggle, I seek to find the light,
To conquer shame and rise from every fight.
For though I stumble, I still strive to be,
A truer version of this mystery.
