What I cherish most are the moments that don’t come wrapped in shiny paper. I think of the simple joy of decorating the house with soft, twinkling lights and candles that cast a warm glow. I think of sitting together under a cozy blanket, sipping hot chocolate, and laughing over memories from years past. I think of the meals we share, not extravagant or overdone, but lovingly prepared, each bite a reminder of care and connection.
Christmas, for me, is about slowing down in a world that seems to be spinning faster every day. It’s about appreciating the people around us and reminding them how much they mean to us—not through grand gestures, but through the little things that show we care.
I know not everyone feels the same, and that’s okay. For some, the gifts are part of their tradition, and for others, it’s the religious aspect that holds the most meaning. But for me, stripping away the excess has made room for something deeper.
