Sailing, Sailing

I was raised in a "Hallmark card" family. We always gave family members Hallmark cards for any and every occasion. My cranky Grandmother who before even looking at a card would flip it over and check to see IF it WAS a Hallmark and how much it cost. If it met with her approval, she showed it everyone, especially her equally cranky old lady friends. But if it didn't, it went right into the trash. So for my favorite Uncle's birthday, I went to a Hallmark store for a card, big mistake. Of the 3 available Uncle cards, none worked. (Why are there only 3 Uncles and 11 Aunt cards?) Either too sentimental or not sentimental enough and costing the price of Venti Starbucks fancy drink, I gave up. I decided to make my own. This is the base for his cardhe's a retired Naval officer and loves anything nautical. The Splash bundle on SALE now was a perfect choice. Ship art found on Pixabay.

Supplies:

Hipster Plume FotoBlendz No. 7 *New & On Sale*

Process notes:
I opened up ArtsyPaper No. 1 from the ArtPlay Palette Splash and added a layered mask from MulitLayered FotoBlendz No. 8. I rotated the mask and clipped my ship photo, then removed areas that I didnt like. I duplicate the photo and applied a PhotoShop Poster Edge filter to give it a sharper look. I used the clone tool to added more waves to the right side. I made a composite layer, Shift+Opt+Cmd+E, and applied a rough pastel PhotoShop filter. I decided I liked the look and considered my designed finishedoff to sail around the world.

Thanks for looking.

what a fun story.
