One of my earliest vacation memories is a road trip from Chicago to St. Louis with my grandparents. Apparently we traveled on Route 66, because my grandpa sang that song "Get your kicks on Route 66" the entire trip. Much to the dismay of my Grandma, by the way. I was in the back seat happily coloring in my new coloring books. Oh, we also stopped for ice cream at the first Dairy Queen too.
