Journaling reads: It was so quiet in the preserve, although we saw recent footprints from other hikers. The day was fair and still, with just enough sun to make the snow sparkly rather than blinding. Bird life was elusive, although we could hear chirps and rustles. And then, as we took the little bridge over the Sawmill Brook, we saw it! The first sign of the Spring that always follows Winter, the buds of the skunk cabbage reaching to the sun above the brooks surface. When I would take the Cub Scouts on late winter hikes, the boys would always marvel at how the plants could grow in the ice and snow. The secret, I would tell them, is the plants ability to generate its own heat, many degrees above the ambient air temperature, which allows it to melt its way up through the frozen ground. Photoshop Elements 14
My photos were busy, so I chose one of the more streamlined papers in the Palette for the background of the template. I used the template mostly as it, shifting the title to the other side of the layout and recoloring the stains. I clipped in the photos (including one to a paint layer in the template), wrote the journaling, added some of the cool brushes and embellishments, and was good to go.
