Purvis Family p.2

Everything from Anna Aspnes. ArtPlay Palette Vitality and ArtPlay Love=Life

I look at the family photo. My mom
and dad. They were seated next
to Uncle Bill and Aunt Nettie. Then
Grandma Blanche and Grandpa Art,
next to Grandma and Grandpa Johnson.
Uncle Gene and Auntie Evelyn are beside
Uncle Paul and Ruth at the end.

I wonder...who took the photo? And
why didnt I wonder until after Mom
died? I can guess. It looks like it
must have been summer time...all the men
in short sleeves. I bet it was a Sunday
and I bet that Grandma Johnson (daughter
of Grandma Blanche, mother to my mom and
Uncle Gene, niece of Uncle Bill and sister
to Uncle Paul) cooked a big dinner. I bet
that Paul and Ruth had come back from
California and probably brought a camera.
And their son Craig, who would have probably
been about 14 must have taken the photo.

The picture was taken in front of Grandma
and Grandpa Johnsons house. The women
were sitting in dining room chairs. How
long did it take to carry the chairs out.
How much commotion was there to get everyone
lined up? Did they laugh and joke? Had
they already done the dishes? What hopes
and dreams did my parents have?

Everyone is gone now...except Dad, Uncle
Gene and Uncle Paul. How much longer
before they to are gone? And then, I
will have memories...memories and no
more.
Such WONDERFUL pondering! I can just imagine the big Sunday dinner and the memorable gathering!
