pumpkin faces

My little one at about 3 years old. They grow so fast, she is now 22.

Journaling reads: This was Rachels first time actually TRICK OR TREATING. Her outfit was a simple Tutu, leotard and tights. The entire day was fun, as it started with Ron, Rachel and me each carving a pumpkin. Ron stayed home and handed out candy, and Rachel and I walked the neighborhood. I took her around with her riding in her red wagon, so she didnt get tired. Once we went around the Oakline and Triumph Road loop, we went back home. Rachel was tired, but was still excited about our adventure, and didnt want to go to get ready for bed, so Ron and Rachel sat by the pumpkins and made Pumpkin Faces. Both Ron and Rachel can loop their tongues into a circle, so although we didn't carve a pumpkin with a circle mouth, Rachel had fun forming her mouth in a circle, saying she would carve next years with a big round mouth. She was so tired, and went to sit in daddy's lap, and pouted that her Halloween was over.

The Process: I had a real hard time creating this layout. In fact, this was my third attempt, and I finally decided to begin with the thought of creating a linear design, which is my favorite. I started with a KardStock from AP Vintage Halloween. I added a number of transfers and brushes from the same AP, and also from AP Tinge. I then added the photos, attaching them to the clipping masks of frames from AP Vintage Halloween, and from FotoBoost Templates. I duplicated the photo of Rachel alone, and placed it above the frame. I then masked it our, and painted back in just her feet and one of the pumpkins. I added the column of journaling, and then after adding the witch at the bottom of the text, and then went back and spaced the text to wrap around the edges of the witch. I then added the large title font. I added a white stroke around the outside, and then created a custom shadow. I finished with an edge overlay.
