Journaling reads: Having been raised in Connecticut, I have to admit that I long for the autumn colors I remember growing up. I long for the annual ritual of raking up the leaves, and then jumping in them - burying ourselves in a blanket of color, breathing deep and smelling the leaves - I miss that. We dont get that in Poway, but we do have a few trees that do change at the slightest dip in temps. I look at the colorful leaves and long for the tree lined streets, the smell of wet leaves after it rains, and the brisk temperatures telling me that snow is sure to follow. I miss those streets with their canopy of colorful branches, and watching the leaves fall all around me. I miss that, but not enough to leave sunny California. I will take fall in a limited fashion, as many trees dont even lose their leaves. I am now use to the Santa Anas, where desert winds blow west to the coast, and cause the temps to hit 90F. So when I want to see those tree-lined roads full of outrageous fall colors, I will take a road-trip, or look around the neighborhood at what I call Pseudo Fall, and remember.

The Process: Annas template and MultiMedia Branches did most of the work. I attached the two photos to the clipping masks, chose my background paper, and re-colored some of the paint layers on the template. I used the PSD file for the MultiMedia Branch which allowed me to bring the thread above the photo layer. I placed a button over the button that was part of the branch, just because I loved the color and design for a fall page. The PSD file also allowed me to change the color of the branch to work better with the fall colors, without changing anything else in the cluster. I added the ScriptTease brushwork, changing its color and blend mode to soften it a bit. The little Stitched by Anna Threads were added at various placed around the edge of the frame. I created custom shadows for each. I added the LoopDaLoop under the photo in the round frame to mimic the frame shape, and placed it on blend mode Divide. I added the journaling and then added the page title.
