Photo would have taken around 1930 I guess - not sure. He was preparing the ground for planting. Everyone on small farms like this were always busy. There were cows to be milked, bullocks and horses to be trained. Sheep, pigs or cattle had to be overlanded to market and crops planted and harvested - even perhaps some haymaking.
