Journaling reads:
Papa served in the US Navy from 1942-1948. He and Grandma eloped and were married in Cumberland, Maryland in 1945. They lived in Boston, Massachusetts until January 1945 when Papa shipped out to duty in the Pacific. Grandma lived with Grandma Lemonovich in Pennsylvania until the beginning of July when she moved to the Detroit area. As Grandma recalled, I went to Detroit on Tuesday and Jan was born on Friday.
Papa finally met his daughter when he was home on leave a month after her first birthday.
