Ouch!

journaling:
Kyle got his first set of stitches on June 1, 2008. He fell as he was coming back in the house after swimming outside. He was wrapped up in a towel, so he couldn't use his arms to stop himself. He landed on his chin and split it open. Troy and I, having no firsthand experience with stitches, weren't sure what to do. It looked deep, but it wasn't gushing blood or anything. We put a band-aid over it and went to Grandma and Grandpa's for supper (as we had planned). Grandma thought we should have it looked at, so Troy took Kyle to the emergency room. Sure enough, he needed five stitches. Kyle was very good about it. He only screamed during the actual stitching process, and who can blame him for that? But the nurse gave him an orange popsicle when it was all over, and as
we were headed home, Kyle told us that he had fun at the hospital! Looking back, it's hard to believe our little daredevil hasn't needed stitches sooner!
