Process | I used the first template from the back. Rotated it 90 degrees counter clockwise and flipped the Framed Masks horizontally. I added ArtsyPaper3.jpg from the Artplay Palette to the background layer and rotated it 90 degrees counter clockwise so that the design runs down the left side of the layout. I turned off the paint layer just beneath the frames in the layers palette. Then I clipped heritage photos to the large FotoBlendz and Framed Mask layers using the clipping mask function in Photoshop Elements. I blended a photo into the background using techniques demonstrated in AnnaBlendz No. 1 and No. 2. I added the title from the Motherhood WordArt and distressed it using the eraser tool and brushes from the Artplay Palette. I stamped more Artplay brushes in fray and white on new layers behind the title layer. I added a button and UrbanStitchez to the page. And lastly, I rotated and resized the journaling box before adding my text.

Journaling | Its hard to imagine my Grandma as a Mother but she was and she had the arguably difficult task of living with my Grandad and raising 2 boys, one of which is much like his Dad. I often wonder if my Dad was as hard to raise as my own son, Luke... If she struggled as much as I did, and still do? She always had such an air of wisdom and ease about her and didnt complain so its hard to know what she thought of Motherhood. She died a year before I had Ella and so those are not among the conversations I had with her. I often wish she was still around to ask. Im not even sure if she worked when her boys were young. As a working class family and in the early years after WWII Im sure she had to. Again I can only imagine. Two generations later, times may have changed but I know one thing for sure... Motherhood is one of the most difficult but also rewarding jobs in the world.
