OMG! This is heartbreaking.

This is a beautiful tribute to a horrible problem. I feel sad for these dogs, and thankful for the volunteers.

There is nothing nobler. One of my kids just adopted a dog from an org in San Francisco that makes the round of kill shelters and swoops up the dogs at the top of the list, driving them to pop-up adoption fairs. I am happy to say that everybody is doing beautifully. At 3, Buko was considered unadoptable and was to be euthanized later that day. He just had his first real grooming the other day, and the light in his face...it is the complete opposite of the heartbreaking portrait you have composed. Thanks for bringing awareness to this widespread problem.

this photo makes me want to cry - thank goodness for the volunteers. I don't know what I would do without my Luther! While he is not technically a rescue he was rescued before going to a store to be sold. This should be a PSA for rescuing homeless dogs!

Oh Lord! Have mercy on these poor creatures. They give so much love and then are discarded at the slightest problem. I wish I could keep them all.

breaks my heart... our local humane brought 3 vans of dogs from TX after the floods... one is being fostered in our neighborhood... absolutely adorable... he won't last long once he gets the all clear... lots of groups are working hard to help these helpless animals...
