Newspaper Faux Pas

JOURNALING:
This past weekend, my local newspaper (yes, we STILL have one and I STILL subscribe) printed the Major League Soccer standings and results. The only problem was they listed the two New York teams as New York - no way to distinguish between the New York Red Bulls and NYCFC. And, three of the results listings just used the team name United. Again, no way to distinguish between DC United, Atlanta United FC, and Minnesota United FC. Fortunately, things were corrected the next day.
Here are some other recent newspaper faux pas:
(On cards from right to left:)
From a 8/27/17 editorial about the county treasurer being a convicted felon:
For instance, the county engineer must be a registered professional engineer and a registered surveyor to take office. Judges must have six years of legal practice. Sheriffs cannot not have a felony conviction.
From 8/29/17 obit:
...passed away...at his home, surrounded by loved ones...after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
From story on dedication of statue of MLK Jr. in his hometown 8/28/17:
Bernice King said she hopes the erection of her fathers statue can now spark conversations about the impact of monuments in public spaces.
