I dont get up to this area as often as I would like. My husband has climbed this mountain as a boy, but I would rather treasure it from afar. We chose Whitney as my dds middle name, keeping the tradition of naming a child with the same initials as her father, and grand-father, and a great reminder of this special part of the country.
Journaling reads: The view in Lone Pine, California, looking down one of the side streets from SR395. What a breath-taking view of Mount Whitney, the tallest peak in the contiguous United States, with a height of 14,505 feet, and interestingly, just 85 miles from the lowest point in North America at Death Valley with its elevation of 282 feet below sea level.

The Process: This page was tough because I started this months ago, and just couldnt finish it. I came across it today, and just felt inspired to see if I could get it completed. I began with a plain kardstock from AP Winter Wonderland. I added the FotoBlendz, and attached the photo to it. I copied the photo, playing around with different blend modes, and painted in just certain areas to highlight certain portions of the photo. I placed two other Fotoblendz behind the photo, and changed their colors, blend modes and opacity. I added the stitching, and the brads, modifying their color. I added the border and the
scroll, changing the color and opacity. I finished up with the Acrylic Alpha title, and the journaling at the bottom.
