Mother's Day

A co-worker of mine with your daughter Cora. Over time I am scrapping photos of the two, hoping to compile them into a photo book.

The Process: I started with the patterned paper. I didnt want it to conflict with the photo, so I place it on a neutral paper, and brought the opacity of the patterned paper down. I changed the color slightly to the light turquoise. I used a 6x6 ArtzyKard Awaken, in its PSD format. I attached the photo to the one of the elements of the ArtsyKard. I changed the base layer of the ArtsyKard to the pale turquoise, and then attached the rainbow stripes paperie to it, but masked out some around the edges, and used blend mode overlay to soften the color. I then began working with the different elements of the ArtsyKard, playing around with their color, blend mode, and sometimes even their placement, so that they best worked with the photo. I used a few elements from ArtPlay Palette Awaken as well, bringing in the larger version of the flower, and placing it at the lower right of the photo. I added the Stained Glow to the upper right of the photo. Once I got everything completed on the ArtsyKard, I played around with placement of it on the patterned background paper, and decided to keep it centered, but to enlarge it a bit. I added the zigzag stitching around the edge. I didnt want both the background paper and the main color of the ArtsyKard to be the same, so I used the Scratched FotoBlendz under the ArtsyKard, changing it to a pale pink and then used the blend mode Hue. This changed the green of the patterned paper to pink almost giving it a glow. I added the ScriptTease Spring brush work, changing its color and opacity, and masked out the areas which landed on the people in the photograph. The final touch was adding the LoopDaLoop and the butterfly.
