Marion Sharkey

Photo No.2 from the archives of the new FB group that found me and is populated with people related to me through my dad ... where I have only a handful of photos.

This is Marion Sharkey with her parents. My guess is that photo was taken between 1925 and 1930.

process...
This photo was torn and taped back together before scanning, so that line that runs through Louis and down to Marion was already there. The photo was also missing the bottom so I improvised Marion's skirt a little. The photo was blended into ArtsyPaper No.2 twice. I changed the orientation of the paper so that the architectural feature appears at the top and bottom of the page. After blending the photo, I added the transfers from the mini palette behind the faces to lighten them up. I also used some of the mini palette brushes to add texture. I blended Marion two more times to the paper pieces, then added the heart cluster over the paper pieces. Added the stitching holes to connect Marion to the smaller blended images of her face, added the journaling and called it done.

Thanks for looking :)
Wonderful layering; beautiful page; you really tore that photo to get that look?

I didn't tear the photo ... the person who posted the photo must have taped it together before scanning. This is how it looked when I downloaded it.

What a cutie and you have aged this photo beautifully. Trying to study your techniques but don't ever expect to run across anything of the sort for my own heritage.

What a great source for building a family line of photos! Superb texture and loving the APP Lorn brushwork in light against dark! You've inspired me once again, Adryane!

Love the process and how it makes me yearn for your imagination skills. It could not be more perfect.

Stunning art! My cousin and I have talked about starting a FB group for our family to share memories. There's not too many of us left.
