I'm a little late with getting this one completed - too much futzing. I have been working in my garden and enjoying the gorgeous spring colors that are so amazing right now in Northern Virginia. Working in the garden always makes me think about how things change so much over the course of the year and even from year to year. It is a beautiful process and one that always amazes me.

Anna's new Roots APP and Trees product played very well with expressing this idea of change. Transfer7 (recolored) seemed to show how Spring paints the world with all the beautiful colors of this time of year. The quote I found not only expresses the change in nature, but even more so, how I sometimes feel about life and accepting and encouraging change there as well.

Process

The 12x12 ArtsyKardz EnRoute gave me some of the core elements of the layout - the butterfly, the background and white circle. I clipped two copies of ArtsyPaper5 to the butterfly and varied opacity and blending modes. I used Roots Transfer 7 as the main brush of color across the tree - two copies each with Hue/Saturation adjustment layers and with blending modes of Normal over Color Burn. This technique was mimicked in the small version of the transfer below the text. I also duplicated the tree and filled the upper version with a warm brown.
