Jamie, you are growing up too fast. It seems just yesterday that I found out I was pregnant.
I remember the day so vividly. I was excited and scared. I worried for your big sister because she was only 18 months at the time I got my positive result, she would have just turned 2 when you would come into the world and I worried she would have had to grow up before her time.
My pregnancy and subsequently my labour was a breeze. I enjoyed it so much from start to finish, in fact the day you were handed to me I secretly wished you were back in my tummy as I knew I would never have any more babies and never feel those little kicks again. Or the special chats I would have with you whilst I was in the bath! I have to say, just to say I had an easy pregnancy and easy labour, does not mean you were the easiest of babies! We had a challenge ahead.

In fact for the first 5 months of your life, you, and I did not sleep!! I was in despair at times, I suffered a bout of post natal depression which I had to get counceling for, but I had great support from family and together, you and I ironed out our differences. Before I know it, you are tasting your first solid foods, learning to roll about, practicing words daily, well through babble then, you were walking. We did it. Then we discovered something was wrong with your sight. Your left eye isnt right, and you now need to go in for corrective surgery. Apparently it doesnt bother you because you have learnt to shut down the side of the brain that works your bad eye. We have tried glasses and patches, but you refuse to wear them. Stubborn! Just like mum. Then in a few weeks time you go to preschool. We have gone through so much together already, we conquer it, and I am sure we will continue to conquer.
