Journaling reads: We allowed ourselves to get caught up in work and other life events. It all too often stopped us from really taking the time to enjoy our lives. We have taken stock of our lives and decided to make some changes so that we could start enjoying the little things again. Our trip in November to Mammoth Lakes was just to get away. We had no agenda, and took our time on the drive up to drink in the local color. We love all the little towns we travel through on our way up - the first being Lone Pine, where we spent the night, and had breakfast the next morning at the Mt. Whitney Restaurant. We checked out the Alabama Hills Museum, which houses a lot of information on the many, many films (mostly Westerns), filmed in the hills, and then continued our way up to Mammoth. It was so nice to not have a timeline, and I think we both felt we could enjoy each other much more because we had nothing we were rushing off to - very different indeed! We honeymooned in Mammoth, a good 24 years ago, so with it being just the two of us, it brought back many good memories of that time. It was almost an un-spoken Second Honeymoon.
