I placed the bl/wh photo on top of the paper and used the magic wand to remove most of the black- I also cloned some of the paper so the lace would not be in his face.
For the photo I use colour burn blend- 88%
I then put a transfer over some of the photo and cut the white paint out of it and moved that bit further up -again so it was not in his face.
Another transfer went below the photo to soften the edges.
I loaded the brushes and put some in a slightly darker colour than the paper under the wordart .
I put another transfer in the left hand top corner using hard light at 57%. Final touch was the adding of a few buttons

And I managed to stay with using just the one palette instead of combining several.
