I love the variety of scenery in the Portland Oregon Japanese Gardens. This photo was taken in June 2013 by my daughter, Saundra (used with permission).
I applied various Photoshop filters to the photo using Anna Aspnes Designs Blog: Artsy Sketch Effect Using Filter Gallery, March 28, 2022.
Construction:
For the Layout, I started with many of the Jouer FotoBlendz No 1 (#2, 3, 4, & 5) placed on a blank 12x12 canvas. I clipped the photo to all 4 fotoblendz layers. I picked out some of the layers, turning off others, and recoloring some to best show off the photo. I extracted the Iris, added shadowing, on just the top fotoblendz layer.
I chose the ArtPlay Palette Veranda, since the colors best matched the photo’s iris. I used Solid Paper #2 as my background. I added Artsy Transfers Veranda #2 on the right side, then I duplicated it, flipped horizontally, and moved to the left side edge.
For the upper cluster, I used the Artplay Palette Veranda Purple Flower then placed Multimedia Flowers No.9 #4 on top turning off the foliage. I changed the hue of the button and flowers slightly.
For the lower cluster, I placed Color WordART Mix No. 1_WTCreate changing the Blend Mode to Linear Burn and the Fill to 70%. I placed AASPN_Color WordArt “Bright Favorite”, duplicated it changing the lower layer to white. I added a shadow to the white layer and slightly offset it. I removed the black, using a layer mask, for all except “bright”
I finished with the Color WordART Mix No.1 Beaded Threadz “Color”.
