Process
I started with a solid paper.

As my photograph was badly degraded I decided to make it look even more weather as it it had been crumpled in a pocket.

I added the photograph and created an inverted mask and brushed out all the hard edges and added a soft light bending mode.

I duplicated the layer three more times and added various blending modes.

A frame was added and the photograph layers were clipped.

Underneath the photograph layers I clipped various transfers and papers finally clipping a word transfer.

More transfers were added onto the paper underneath the framed picture and to the top and side underneath the journaling.

Finally I added a cluster of elements a stitched loop, title and journaling.

Thanks for looking
Viv.
Wow is right! This is beautiful Viv. And your journaling so nice since no name is available. I struggle with creating unknown ancestors. Very inspirational.

I was curious...love genealogy...so I looked up the location and year and found...The Egyptian Expeditionary Force (EEF) was a British Empire military formation, formed on 10 March 1916 under the command of General Archibald Murray. Maybe he was a part of that expedition?? Handsome photo and layout...love the element cluster!
